It will be interesting to see GWS's crowd numbers next year. Without Buddy I don't see them pulling too many more in at this stage....
They've added some much needed experience but I think they were banking on Buddy (aka counting one's chickens before they'd hatched). Heath Shaw, Mummy, Josh Hunt are not the A-grade marketing players that they need. Unless they start winning some games, they're gonna stay cellar dwellers. It must be disheartening when even the Demons are expected to finish above you.

One of my daughters and I are planning on getting a 3 game Giants membership. Gets us into our game and a couple of others that take our fancy. I want to be able to cheer on Mummy, not sure about Lamb though....
That's at least two more members they've gained.

I'll use my Canberra Giants membership to buy tickets to round 1. Should be available earlier.

If you spend less time getting offended at the semantics of a discussion and more time on your own opinions then maybe people will respect what you have to say?

Anyway thats all i am saying and back on topic.

Despite all that I reckon they'll finish ahead of St Kilda next year at the very least. Other than Adams, they're sorting out which of the kids are going ot make it. Get another pre-season into them plus add the trades they're bringing in and Tom Boyd and they'll be ok. I don't think the bottom of the ladder will be as poor next year as it was this year.

I reckon we here on RWO could form a team and finish above St Kilda!

I don't why, if we love aussie rules, why we wouldn't support the idea of a second team in Sydney. It can hardly hurt in growing the game.

Because I cheer on the Swans winning games not the size of TV deals, newspaper inches, or kid participation rates.

But without TV deals, newspaper inches and kid participation, the game will slowly die.

Not sure I can agree with that.

                        *wonders off the trade thread*

                          I agree 100% with this.

I used to be all for the code and anything it takes to make it the best sport in Aust let alone the world. But then i lived in Melbourne for 7 years and that quickly turned into i follow the swans only and the rest can go to hell.

If the code were to die and only survive in Melbourne i would not care tbh. Melbourne people did their best to kill any enthusiasm i had for the code. So glad i live in a place where I can walk away from the game when i want and not be reminded every 2 minutes that only victorian teams matter in the grand scheme of things.

                          /end

I don't see why we can't do both.

Like many here, I love the swans more than the AFL. But am sensible enough to know that a strong second team in sydney is good for the game and us.
