You have made me a happy old crank . . . . now before I return this goldfish thread to it's original purpose:

Sonny Elms' triple premiership side, nly lost 6 matches in 3 years (they won 57). And while there was variability of the quality of the sides in those days I'm not sure there premierships should be discarded because of that. We would probably have to discard our 2012 flag for the same reason (GWS, Gold Coast, Melbourne anyone).
I have a Swans polo top with the VFA, V/AFL & night premierships on it. Don't worry, our long & proud heritage won't be forgotten!

LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

When were we successful with this 7/10/5 structure? That is a very tall forward line. Perhaps need some balance and variety by including a small crumbing forward. And a bit more height in defence would help too.

                That's a 7/11/4 structure...no ruckman.

Swans ruckmen have been expected to function effectively as forwards for quite a while, hence the ruckmen get included amongst the forwards** The recruitment of Kurt seems almost to be taking this expectation to its logical conclusion.

** All structures tend to effect thinking, the 7/10/5 framework helps to describe the team through 21st century roles, the traditional 6 rows of three structure we are all so familiar with, describes the team through mid 20th century roles.

So Rampe is more valuable then LRT now? Give me a break.

Happy to give you a break, even happier to hear where you plucked that somewhat strange inference from?

It's irrelevant. Tippett wasn't mentioned in your team.

Who is going to ruck? Jack?

And it's not true. There's always a midfielder rotating through the HFF.

Tippett wasn't at the club in 2012.

Yes. We had Pyke and Mumford. No Mumford or Pyke mentioned in the midfield.

But "Mummy" is. He's sitting right next to Pyke in the forward line.

                                Too quick.

                                It seems pretty straight forward.

You can't claim to have a 7/10/5 structure when you have 2 ruckman in the forward line. It's 7/11/4 which is incorrect.
