Round 3: Sydney Swans Reserves v Queanbeyan Tigers

These type of encounters do little to improve our players and get them ready for seniors. It's an advantage the Vic, SA & WA sides have over the four northern sides.
Eddie, can you please do something about this inequality/uneven playing field!Comment

There seems to be a big imbalance between the Northern and Eastern teams. Both the Suns and Lions reserves were comfortably defeated yesterday but the Giants demolished Belconnen who look to have dropped away alarmingly after losing their coach and best player
Tigers have also lost their two best players and don't look like they have replaced them adequately. The new Eastern powerhouse seems to be the Sydney based teams UNI and the Eagles who have recruited a few ex AFL listed playersComment

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the Brisbane Lions. Even their reserves team got hammered yesterday by a non-AFL side:
FINAL SCORE
Lions Reserves: 2.3 3.7 3.10 5.10 (40)
Redland Bombers: 5.4 14.8 15.10 22.15 (147)
At least losing by only 107 is better than the what the senior side lost by (113), but only a straight kick in it.
It takes a bit of the gloss off our first week's win.Comment

When you consider the players out of the first team, that are replaced theoretically by the best reserves players, its no surprise their reserves are being hammered, even by non-afl reserve teams. We'd probably be the same if you took 1/2 a dozen of the best players from our reserves out.I'm beginning to feel sorry for the Brisbane Lions. Bird must come back in next week and perhaps it is time Lloyd was elevated to the senior list.Comment

Because didn't you know we needed as many talls as possible to exploit the conditions? Absolutely absurd that he wasn't chosen for conditions that really suit him.... Our team selections have been baffling at times this year!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
