I've heard no negative comments close around me at any game, and each one has been at a different ground so I've been sitting near completely different groups of Swans fans. The roar that went up when he took his first mark and goal at the GWS game was reminiscent of the old Plugger days.
I am sure that there are a handful of Swans fans who like to jibe and berate, but most of them aren't fussy who they pick on. They just like to spend a whole game listening to their own voices.
The onfield issue isn't Buddy. We saw last week what he is capable of when he gets decent service.
As for leadership, last week we had Harry telling us about how much Buddy has been helping him up in the forward line, and during pre-season Macca told us about how he's been contributing ideas, bringing stuff from Hawthorn. All the players' onfield actions suggest he is valued and "part of the group".
If Buddy is indirectly causing an issue with cohesion it may be because some players are looking to Buddy to do too much but a far greater issue is a lack of run, an inability to kick the ball to a team mate and patchy hardness at the ball.Comment

You just despise it if their team is losing. Interesting...Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

So if their teams are leading by 10 goals and they want to get away at the 20m mark of the last quarter to beat the traffic or they have younguns with them which makes shuffling out with a large crowd problematic, that's okay?
You just despise it if their team is losing. Interesting.....And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I just don't like seeing the mass exodus of people who leave 10 minutes before the end when they can see their team is unlikely to win. The same people are glued to their seats when the game is very tight in the last 5 minutes.
I think it's important to respect the effort of all 44 players by staying to the end. As Robert Walls once said "these guys are hero's" and i like seeing hero's fighting to the very end.Comment

Cool down Big Al and Triple B. I know everyone situation is different. I have a three year old, so I understand the issue with youngsters.

I always leave about 5 mins from the end if a loss looks imminent, I have the best part of a two hour drive home after the game so I don't need to add on 30-45 minutes extra just trying to get out of the car park if I'm not going to have the joy of singing our song at the end!Comment

It may not be the greatest look, but I think you'll find most people do it out of practicality not poor sportsmanship.

Apologies to those I've offended on the leaving the ground early issue. I understand there practicalities involved.
It's just my thing. My fiancee had corporate passes to the 2006 Grand Final. After the final siren, the people we were with jumped up to leave. I was annoyed with my fianc?e, because I wanted to watch the losing ceremony presentation, and pay respect to the defeated Swans moping on the grass. She told me to pull my head in, and that we were leaving!Comment

I can comprehend it with the socceroos though - because it has been proven over a couple of years, and especially recently, that the older brigade are clearly not up to the challenge either. They will get belted in Brazil, but that would of happened with the older guys there anyway. Better to get experience into the next generation which will be far better for the experience come the qualifying campaign for Russia 2018!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I'm not very patient at the best of times. Add a loss and heavy traffic to that and I'm not entirely pleasant to be around.Last edited by Big Al; 15 April 2014, 04:46 PM...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors.
