    Winning is better than losing!

    1. JPK was outstanding.
    2. Nice to see Hanners and Jetta be involved.
    3. Buddy's not bad.
    4. We have some pretty neat defenders.
    5. I love Pav.
    6. Ruck looked a problem. Will give a pass because of Sandi, but still needs work.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

An outstanding hard gutsy win - we kept great numbers around the ball all match. Good to see our run is back.

Had a good day on the punt. Last net was swans 0-19. Was so hard willing us to not win by more, thanks Benny for missing that last one! But seriously , great win. Finals like pressure. Let's bring that all year from now on !!

We got SMASHED in the Hit Outs. Guess that doesn't matter right now.

            A great win.

We outplayed Freo in all aspects - Especially hardness at the ball.

Improved field kicking accuracy by the Swans.

Maybe the names on the jumpers reduced the kicks to the opposition !!

We were always gonna be smashed in hit outs. Good news is nanko played really well in ressies. Derickx still has to watch out

Great to see Rampe taking it to another level this year. Best game he's had, and did it in big pressure situation.

Some of the intensity and tackling that was absent this year has returned. So we know we can do it. If you give 100%, you don't have to be perfect.

We looked really tired at the end. Luckily they were too.

BJ and Lloyd each had one good play on the the night, which was a bit disappointing. BJ didn't seem to get involved enough and Lloyd seemed off the pace of the game even though he was the one that was fresh. He looked far from the confident player he is in the reserves; hope it was just nerves.

Shaw looked rejuvenated, so I'l have to stop calling for his omission.

Looking forward to Tippo's return and forming a new partnership with Buddy. Hope it all clicks by round 8.

I don't want to be harsh, but I feel we have seen the last of ROK. Having the extra pace or Brandon Jack and Cunningham in the forward line was significant. So many Freo kicks were under pressure, which ROK would not have created.

Rampe was amazing today. He keeps getting better and is always composed.

Tippett looks set to come back, possibly for Tom D and I would like to see Rohan back in the team. Did Rohan warrant a call up Ugg or Ludwig?

Lloyd made some composed decisions. That pass to Franklin and taking the ball out in the forward pocket was smart play.

LRT will be important to the team if you don't want Tippett spending too much time in the ruck!

So who is out for Tippett? I'd say bj goes. Keep loyd in. If like to see him play the whole game ( esp against Melbourne) give Cunningham the green vest this week

Genuine Bloods football. No passengers, all working hard, lack of skill overcome by sheer determination and grit.
Kennedy for BOG - 38 disposals in that company! Closely followed by Rampe - flew into contests - and McGlynn - apart from whacking a Freo guy off the ball that cost a goal, did anyone see that?
Glad the umps didn't have a final bearing on the game, but Buddy could easily have had half a dozen frees like the one Ted was pinged for in front of goal.
But we were terrific! The run and carry was back, Shaw's good deliveries outnumbered his horrors, Nick Smith had a good game on the Serial Pest, Reg was back to form, Teddy was his stifling and hard running self, Laidler must have ensured his position, Mal was in fine touch.
And the midfield sprang back to life! Kieren, Macca, Bird (agree with the poster who said he should only be dropped for injury), Hanners, Parker, Jetta - all made great contributions.
And the forward line showed what it can do when given a bit of space through the pressure the mids applied. Buddy was good, Benny was terrific there as well as midfield, Brandon played a very good game, LRT was more than useful and coped very well with being picked on - shabby behaviour from Freo IMO.
And what about Jake Lloyd as sub! What a revelation, and I can see why the ressie watchers have been handing out the superlatives. The kid can really play, even allowing for the others being exhausted by the time he came on. That's exactly how to use a talented sub. I hope we see more of him.
An exciting, and occasionally nerve-wracking game to watch (what other kind do the Swans Play?!) with a grand finish as we held on determinedly despite Freo's revival, which a good side will usually produce. Made my day, weekend, and next week as well!

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Well that turned out to be a splendid night out at the footy. Took three people to their first game, so the're hooked.
Franklin had at attitude adjustment after the long break.
The mongrel was back in the Swans and it was an excellent win.
Kick to kick back on, lots of fun.
                        Well done Sydney.

Still shocked we won today. The guy on SEN radio gave Fremantle as his certainty for the round 5. Did not see all the game but what a last quarter cameo by Lloyd!! wow he just looked so composed.

Credit where credits due to Horse and the coaching team for seriously outcoaching Lyon. All our blokes dug in today. Benny, Buddy, Teddy, Smithy, Shawy, Jetts, and how can I forget JPK who was absolutely immense around the clearances.

Onwards and upwards now please boys. Melbourne and Brisbane next two rounds. Will set us up nicely for Hawthorn the week after Brisbane. IF we beat Melbourne and Brisbane we will sit 4-3 going into the Hawks match. If it was at the SCG i'd pencil it in for a win, but at ANZ I reckon there hard running will have the wood on us.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Any idea when the ANZ deal ends?
What other team is forced to play at a "home" ground that has such a bad record for them

The Giants laid about five thousand against Melbourne a couple weeks back but apart from games in hurricane conditions I suspect not.
