Great team effort tonight, hard to possibly see how anyone can have any complaints.

It will be hard for any team to keep both Buddy and the Tip quiet for a full game. Plus Reid is starting to quietly improve and Goodesy can just be a cameo

WTF is going on with Derrick with a kiss, his rate of improvement is astounding. At one stage tonight he almost took two screamers in two minutes, he presents well and is getting some justified compliments from the pundits. This could be our greatest recycling effort yet, it is amazing what confidence and some encouragement does to a player. He is not far from really cementing his spot in the side and I am more than happy to be proved wrong here

Great depth with Rohan, Mitchell and ROK in the twos and I also think continued improvement as this unit start to learn how to play with Buddy in the team. Tonight and last week he really showed why he is getting the coin he is.

The SCG should be a rockin Thursday week

Buddy is a Swan through and through, his comments after the game where full of praise to the team, I can't wait to see he and Tippett develop their game.

Will Tom D stay in when Pyke is ready? I think you can only play one now!
I really don't think you could drop him after that effort. Pykey is quiet versatile so I think we could carry both of them but tonight worked well.

4 points and straight kicking. Intensity seemed to be inconsistent.

The big question mark for me is Goodes. Obviously still regaining match fitness, he had one disposal in each of the first 2 quarters. Another 5 in the second half until he was subbed.

He was not keen to push himself for a shot from 50, and generally seemed like he was avoiding the physical contest (as per previous matches so far).

Whats the issue - role in the team, fitness, not at 100% injury wise or mentally not ready???

It was pretty woeful, but I don't have a problem with the pendulum finally swinging a bit towards us (historically anyway)!

I think he is being nursed back into the team and managed through this season, which I think will certainly be his last.

No-one is guaranteed a spot but I think while he is still contributing and getting back to fitness he will still get picked. Could see him perhaps being the sub for Geelong. Remember he has the best part of a season out injured

Yeah but bring in Pyke & keep Derickx, Tippett, Buddy, Goodes, Reid and you'd have the tallest average height side in history ... keep McGlynn out and you'd an average height to rival some NBL sides for average height!

Goodes had 2 disposals in a half (the one I can remember was horrible). Do you want to drop him?

I think it will come Goods78. I was taken back as well when he did not take that shot from 50m. He is a beautiful long kick!

He has been out for the best part of a year and it takes time for any player to recover their best form after a year out.

He still has his pace and that's the important part. He will get better as his confidence and fitness return.

Goodes is a champion, two time Brownlow medalist, two time premiership player, brilliant leader and match winner coming off a long term injury. BJ is none of those things so I don't think it's inconsistent to want him dropped.

Did anyone at the ground hear Goodes being booed?

Watching on TV sounded like he was being booed - just wondering if anything else was going on.

                              The booing was very strange!

I agree, but its a tough job coming in to a game late and nearly 10 goals up.
