I noticed first few rounds buddy was getting lots of criticism by swans supporters at home games. I didn't hear any criticism last week. He truly is a swan now. I think he's genuinely excited to be in Sydney and we are now accepting him as a true blood. I've always been happy to have him. Go buddy and go the swans.

I think Pyke made some mistakes early but he was pivotal in the last qtr giving us first use with great hit outs which is something Derickx doesn't do unfortunately! He'll be better for the run and our number 1 going forward hopefully!

They both had shockers but at least Pyke tries to hit to advantage. I've lost count of the number of times Derrickx gently caressed the opposing ruckman's hand as he taps it into the waiting arms of an opposition player.

He was always going to be rusty. Good to get a run. We've got an 8 day break now. Hopefully we can regather.

Cunningham was fantastic late. Never stopped running hard.

Laidler did some really important things late too - a good game from him.....

We normally go close to maxing out the interchange, but we had 23 left tonight.

                    Any theories?

                      K. Jack and Shaw were off for extended periods so that would have affected interchange.

Looks like a good type for defence, but the Swans also need to develop his midfield capabilities.
Agree Matt80. He did not take a backward step and showed good composure with a tight scoreboard.

I think it was close to his best game so far. 22 disposals and 6 marks plus 6 tackles. He really was the one consistent out for us all night with his hard running. Shame (i think it was) bj or lyold didnt convert that chance in the last quarter made by cunninghams gut run. He is developing nicely and looking more and more like he believes he belongs.

An ugly win tonight, but an important win none the less. Umpires evened it up in the last quarter but were ordinary all night for some utterly baffling calls.

I noticed that too. I guess they normally rotate the forwards after they kick a goal and there weren't many goals so there's one reason. Also without mcglynn and Hanners the midfield wasn't able to rest as much so maybe another reason for less interchanges there ??

Both our ruckmen were useless around the ground. Their rucks had 32 disposals to our 9. Very disappointed in Pyke's first game back. He will really have to get up to speed soon.

Not too much to get excited about, except that we managed not to lose. A lot of players well off the pace including young Lloyd. But Harry did well and so did Jetts. And Zak Jones had a pretty good first game. He seemed to pick up the pace of the game as it progressed and he got involved in a lot of play in the 4th qtr.

Looks as though Shaw will be gone for a bit with an ankle injury, and KJ didn't look too good either. We are now getting beaten at contested possession and will have to turn it around.

Maybe coaches have realised that you don't need to get your Goal Kickers to run off the field after every goal is scored!
