That last free kick was the most mystifying of all. Eagles have 3 goals from sus free kicks.
Last weekend in Sept 05 - The best weekend of my life!

I think there has to be an official investigation by the AFL. Something is not right with the umpiring. They can't be so one-sided and not be on the take. Just have to see if they even it out in the second half. WCE have now gotten 3 goals due to the umpiring.

If we win, I'm sure nothing will happen.

Longmire will be happy with Lloyd. Only two possessions, but five tackles.

I can't recall a player at his age - as Luke Parker. Players will soon hear him coming. Umpiring pretty bad. I'm old - 47 but the rules are nowhere near what I played to. How are you allowed to just drop the ball when tackled - surely that is illegal disposal?

We cannot win in the wet. it's as simple as that. Nobody makes adjustments for the conditions and we continue to give umpires opportunities to either give soft frees or make mistakes in favour of the Eagles. Eagles are absolutely "ON" today and it was simply a matter of whether the pressure would make us capitulate like we usually do when the pressure goes on. Round one was identical....right down to 12 point play for no free to Buddy - length of the ground...goal. Followed by another 5 goals. Expect that to happen unless Horse can do something dramatic to change their mindset. Stop the dinky dry weather handballs. Judge when to soccer and when to take posesseion and a tackle. Masten and Priddis giving our inside mids an absolute lesson in decision making and being in the right place to receive the bobbling ball. On top of this we wasted 10 inside 50s either by shocking kicks to defender's advantage (even when one on one) to missing, what was it, 5 kickable shots in a row. Absolutely guaranteed to see the opposition kick the next goal under that sort of performance. Every time the Eagles get the ball free it is length of the ground uncontested sort of stuff and look like scoring every single time.

Signs are pretty good but we should be so much further in front... Chamberlain is so bad his decisions are fascinating each time. Gary Rohan is playing like Gary Rohan, hopefully he has an impact in this 2nd half, no surprises there

I think the umpires get swayed by how vocal the crowd is. It's obviously a subconscious thing. That's why the Melbourne teams with vocal supporters do we and why the Perth and Adelaide sides do well at home.

No it's not...about 8 years ago they changed the interpretation to you MUST try and and get rid of the ball if tackled....so that explicitly included that you MUST drop the ball if can't handball (because this is an attempt to kick). If you don't drop the ball you will be pinged for holding the ball. This was when they changed the rules to combat too many stoppages....remember "give the players time to get the ball out and we will have less stoppages and that will fix congestion". IDIOTS :-)

I don't know what game you're watching sharp but Eagles are definitely not ON. We've dominated but can't put the goals on the board

For someone named sharp, you aren't really? Priddis giving a lesson to our inside mids? Hardly. Also how are the Eagles ON? If they are ON then what are we given we are absolutely dominating them?

We should have made the most of our opportunities. We were wasteful. But the umpires are crap but what can you expect from Razor Ray. That free against Buddy was @@@@e, one of the worst of the season, a real screamer. Yes they are throwing and so have we a few times. The only difference is we havew been pinged on numerous occasions for incorrect disposal and Eagles once. We need to kick goals instead of points. Bad luck about young Jones, Kennedy went for the high hit, he lifted himself as soon as he decided to bump. Deliberate high hit, 6 weeks as far as I am concerned. He put a player out of the match with concussion and we are actually missing his hardness on HB. Kennedy knew exactly what he was doing. He will plead smaller player, not taking height into account when he hit, you watch.

Really terrible conditions at Subie today. The surface looks disgusting. McKenzie is continually holding Buddy and Schofield when he had Buddy did the same and got a bloody free kick. when Schofield is on Reid he is constantly holding on and pushing him when he goes for the mark, making him go off balance. Umpires don't know what holding or pushing in the back is if the Eagles are doing it, bloody cheats.

Jakovich on SEN going absolutely berserk about the decision saying the umpire should not umpire again this year.

I agree Ugg. I think we are playing good wet weather footy for a change. There have been a few risky plays, like the one Rampe made that led to a goal. But we've been pushing the ball forward as much as possible. If a few more of those long kicks on goal would have gone through, or the umpiring had been more even, we would have a pretty big lead by now. We just need to keep it up.

What about the Mckenzie deliberate against the behind post. I thought if you blatantly tried to rush the ball and it hit the behind post then it's a free kick?
