I agree if drop b jack. I'd be keen to see Rohan play off half back the role that shaw had been playing. Maybe Zak jones is sub next week.

Would be surprised to see Zak Jones play next week due to concussion.

Gazza to replace B.Jack who needs to work on his disposal efficiency. He gets to great positions then fluffs things.

It didn't sound too bad in longmires post game interview. He may decide to rest him because he's a newcomer but I doubt one of the more senior guys would be rested based on that degree of concussion today. Of course it's just my suspicion.

If jones doesn't play then the question of who is dropped for tippetts return is answered.

Agree. You need to be carful with young players.

Not sure if Tippett's knee injury is a relapse of earlier in the year. In the end I think it was tactically better for the Swans to have Tippett out in those wet conditions and to have the pace of Rohan and Jack who nailed 7 tackles each.

Yep. BJ needs some time in the Magoos I think. I thought his disposal was poor last week too. If Tippett doesn't play next week it would be a good time to throw Membrey in the team to see how he goes. I think Zak will be okay to play.

mission accomplished.......... and great for his confidence me thinks !

I agree with the general consensus on here, he had a good game...Great to see, because he seems to be in the middle of a confidence slump....

He needs to get his mojo back.

He just seems to be in need of that one magical moment, which is alluding him at present.

As a Swans, and G Rohan, fan, it's riveting to watch.

Whilst he wasn't terrible today, his 7 tackles were good, he just doesn't find enough of the footy. 8 possessions and i think 4 of those came in a 10 minute period. And as soon as he took that mark inside 50 he was never going to kick it and was looking for buddy straight away. If he is going to play forward he needs to go back and kick those. I don't feel he has the hardness and mongrel too play midfield. So it only leaves half back for me. If Jones doesn't come up, maybe he can slot in there to see how he goes. If not back to reserves to continue his half back education.

It was a difficult day in the wet but the attempted pass to Franklin was just plain dumb. The whole crowd could see what he was going to do, including incredulously, the swans supporters. Franklin led, exposing the goals - all Rohan had to do was have a ping , the ball would have skidded through. Instead GH honoured the lead. as someone here said maybe he has not got enough mongrel
in him. clearly overawed on that occasion. Disheartening to see that sort of play at the game. At that time the swans needed a buffer. Things were still tense at that stage.

Still no where near the player he once was and not in my best 22. Battled hard but lacks surety and savvy. His stupid 50 metre penalty give away was one of a few glangers that a better side would have punished more. He has been given generous time on the field and now needs to justify it with some good football.

Like many I was becoming worried about him, but i think he may have turned the corner during this game.
Started out looking listless and lacking confidence (that pass to buddy screamed " out of form" - but by the end of the game he appeared to have discovered his desperation.
It reminded me enormously of that final many years ago when Noggy who began his career looking uninvolved, suddenly discovered desperation and went chasing after a loose ball on his hands and knees (2004?).

His effort yesterday can't be questioned but still lacking that confidence that a player of his skill set needs as much as anything. There was 2 or 3 times when he was receiving the ball or attempting to pick up the ball on the run and would have been away with plenty of space only to have a costly fumble. His lack of confidence was also glaring when he wouldn't have that set-shot from 45 metres out...at his best he is one of our most accurate kicks for goal and can kick 55+ with ease. No doubt John Longmire would have been straight on the phone telling him to back himself and take the shot. His ability to make defenders panic when they're isolated on him in our attacking half shouldn't be underestimated either...it's a rare trait.

I think I'm just in the camp of him not being in the best 22, but yesterday was an improvement. Would be happy for him to get another game next week (I wouldn't be suprised if Tippett doesn't play again next week) and see if he can build on yesterday's effort. He needs to start finding the pill more, but like Harry it might just click for him soon!

I thought he went ok yesterday too. One of his better performances in the firsts this year. We need to be patient with Gaz. He may get back to where we thought he was headed and he may not. He's lost 2 years and we need to remember that.

On another matter, while this is a perfectly valid thread topic, I noticed via Twitter that both this and the Goodes thread were started during the game. Just watch us play guys and start these afterwards. We already have a match thread for instant reaction that we regret later!
