Yep, one uses multiple media forums to air his grievances and uses inflamed language and distorts the truth or tells lies, the other merely responds with facts using limited avenues - because he is not in the media.

Gillion McWhimp hasn't got the guts to reign in Eddie so hits both with the same feather. But of course Eddie has won by getting the bidding system looked at!

He and Ed are neighbours. At least holiday house neighbours.
No body likes falling out with their neighbours.

Give the man a break, he can't be seen to be taking sides. I thought his response was fair and measured and far better than anything that came out of the last regime. I like the way Pridham has handled this but the Clive Palmer comment and some of the twitter responses have been right down there at the Collingwood idiots level.

Maybe we should remind Gillon that if taken to court that the draft would in all likelihood be proven to be a restriction of trade despite the artificial measures the AFL have put in place to justify it's support and that if a NSW kid wants to stay in Sydney to play for the swans or GWS he has that right - that is of course if all these kids in the academy want to play for the swans or GWS ?

There is the core group of brainless Collingwood supporters who would back Eddie without even blinking and this group is quite large. But to the thinkers at Collingwood there are some cracks starting to form. I was talking to a mate who follows Collingwood and he can't stand Eddie.
The Caro story yesterday cleverly quoted Buckley in 2010 when he was with 3AW asking why McGuire was involved in the Heath Shaw fiasco. Cut to Maxwell's retirement presser yesterday - there he his flanked by his coach, captain and of course president. Did Richard Colless help Jude announce his retirement?

Agree, Jewels, McLachlan can't be seen to be blatantly taking sides. The problem is that Eddie too powerful for the league. He's impervious to reason and has many platforms to disseminate his bloviations. McLachlan made a good call.

Really think that they have a lot of issues ,one they don't have the players the depth , and the culture is not what it should be ! Eddie seems to be attacking us to divert the problems at the club !

Had to consult Dr Google for a definition of "bloviation". Love it. Added to the personal dictionary. Very Paul Keating of you. He always had the knack of adding to my personal vocabulary.

I'll give Gillon the benefit of the doubt for now, he is certainly a very calm measured fellow.

On the face of it his comments are reasonable. He defends the Academy System in strong but measured terms and knocks on the head the scandalously ridiculous idea the Collingwood should somehow have their own academy.

His comments that allude to F/S are fair enough, IMO you get an academy priority or F/S in the same round but cannot "bank" them.

                            I did the same.
Now I can say to those who bloviate, "you sir are a bloviator", and my it sounds so deliciously pompous

I searched Cambridge dictionary and came up with nothing. Obviously an American word.

Well, all of a sudden I am thinking of the writings of PG Wodehouse. What a lovely way to spend an evening.
