Agree with this. We have grunt and silk, whatever is required.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Some people are going off at Goodes for allegedly staging for a free Thomas-style. Anybody see it?
The man who laughs has not yet heard the terrible news

We played to our 2012 pre-buddy style of play. Lots of hard work, lock it in 50. The way you have to play when you dont have the comp's best forward.

Think they are talking about the free he got in the goal square towards the end of the game - Goodes as much as we all love him does make it easy for the ump to see him - he likes to flap his arms around - he is not in the Thomas class though for diving !!

            And it wasn't a free.

Or more accurately if it had been Matthew Lloyd who did that you would have said there is no way that was a free.

The way I see it is that Goodesy likes to give the ump a hand and let him know if there's anything suss, but I wouldn't call it staging, and certainly not in the class of Matthew Melissa Wu Lloyd.

                  Benny and Parker BOG together.

Also just a note on Tippett. He is underdone at the moment but hopefully the fitness and movement will improve before finals. Also the reason Goodes is able to pop up and find room and goals in the F50 is because Tippett is double teamed or leading into space to create room
Agree with you sentiments on Reg I made a note earlier of how well he played. I was a bit shocked by the match ups to be honest. Expected Teddy to get Carlisle and Reg to get resting ruck as it would normally go. Thought they might change it at quarter time but Reg did exceedingly well. He did something that made Caerlisle's life a misery, he wore him close almost as a second skin. Tall forwards like room and if you don't give them any you cut off their air so to speak, in this case run up and leading capacity.

Yeah but what a deft delivery from Kizza.

                      It didn't look legit.
I watched the game with headphones on, which probably helped me at this point, you can actually hear the umpire apologising to Goodesy saying that he didn't see the fist.. If you also take notice of where the umpire runs in from he was guessing that it was a throw as Goodes had his body between the ball and the ump. In fairness to the ump, it would've looked like a throw.

But that is why the umpies are not supposed to guess. They are only supposed to pay free kicks on what they see, not what they think they see. If they are unsighted they are not supposed to pay frees.
