It was nice to see the guard of honour by the swans for Lenny Hayes at the end of the game. Lenny seemed to be embarrassed with the attention.

Rohan was spectacular. The crazy buddy step-around-two goal was set up by a crazy run-through-three-opponents effort by Rohan. My favourite bit of play so far this year.

And the Towers goal - shades of Mitch Morton - also delivered by Rohan's pace and swerve.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Yeah, like the pressure of being interviewed on live TV.

I think he was embarrassed by the scoreboard.

A little milestone after the game: Keiran Jack interviewed by Mark McVeigh chatting about Lenny Hayes - NSW footy all-round.

Rohan's really hitting his straps. His finals series could be spectacular.

Great to see Rohan getting back to his best. Biggs was a star and deserves to retain a spot. It is going to get more and more difficult to pick the best 22 as we have so much depth. You have just got to love our recruitment team. The player performances during game time and after sure make everyone proud to be associated with the club.

Someone on Big footy knocked Biggsie and said that his tackles were soft. Idiot. I watched the game replay after being at the game. His tackles were some of the best all day, Kizza did the NRL tackle to beat all tackles, so I don't know what he is talking about. Some people just have to knock the young blokes. One tackle didn't stick because he was going one way and Gwilt wrong footed him.

Did you know that Biggsie played on Lenny Hayes and kept him to 8 possied by half time to his own 13. Well done young man. The kid was very good.

Doesn't Lloydy get into space! I said this when he played his first game and the senior players didn't honour his leads. They are now ready for him to break and get at least 5 metres on his opponent. He and Biggsie combined for some of the plays of the day, coast to coasts. Gazza provided the other coast to coast plays with Teddy & Macca.

Our young talent is sensational. In a reserves team that had 8 toppies and Josh Hunt, Sumner, Giles etc against them we were wonderful. Well done the Academy boys you were great. Got to love Jack Hiscox, he has the WOW factor about him, so fast I think he might actually beat Jetts in a foot race. Just needs to steady when kicking at goal after a long run. We have AJ, Aliir, Derrickx, Perris all out for the season. Add to that Rhyce, Benny & Smithy and we have quite a few players out. Senior players getting injured hits the reserves as well, add to that George Hewett didn't play and he has been the main creator all season. The depth is really starting to show when our reserves beat the top team by a point and our young players are doing so well in the Seniors.

For those who are bagging Dean Towers, He played a defensive forward role and did it quite well. He has been given this role in every game so far and that has freed Harry up for a more attacking role. Deano's tackling has been very good and his defensive pressure has caused quite a few turn overs. Deano isn't quite there yet but there are signs that he is getting there.

The three points I took out of the Saints game

              1. Buddy is a freak. But we already knew this.
              2. Some of our play was at the standard of the Cats game. We just didn't maintain it, we had periods of concentration lapse, the second quarter in particular.
              3. Our depth is of the highest standard in our history in Sydney & probably even higher than those famous '30's teams. We need to do better than those teams who wasted opportunities.

I love Gaz's attacking bursts out of defence. Good to see him willing to back his pace and take on the opposition which has lead to some exciting runs and great end-to-end goals. This kind of play could cause some major head aches for opposing teams in the finals.

Kennedy clear of damage. Conservative approach during week and assess later in the week if he needs a week off. GREAT NEWS (Sorry - wrong thread)

Just watching a recording of the game and kept a close eye on JPK. Around 3qtrs through the first qtr I noticed him touch the back of his left hammy just briefly but continued to play on out in the ground. He even kicked the long ball to buddy for his 3rd of the qtr after this. He played out most of the qtr without much influence but I never saw him grab at his hammy again. He even started the 2nd qtr in the middle and very early on was standing the mark at half back arms up moving about then followed the kick to the next contest which was then near the interchange gates. As the play moved away from there you briefly see him motion for someone to come on and he jogs off then subbed a short time later. As horse has said, it doesn't appear to be a serious hammy as he tried to continue but I guess it didn't feel right. Hopefully he only misses the last 2 games max as we need him fully fit for our tilt at the flag. On the bright side hopefully it'll freshen the rest of his body up too!

Great to hear! This news must've just come out as I was writing my post re: Kennedy! Lol.

Brett kirk was a late starter and he turned out ok.

If Towers ends up as good as Kirky i'd be very happy.

Was composed and disposal was mostly OK.

It's not very often we get young players that just slot into the team so well.
Especially in the back half where they work so well together.

Pyke is getting back into some form.
Dropped a few marks he would normally have swallowed.
Yeah - given several of the boys have not played together for too many games , the movement from the back was quite good.
Doggies game will be a bit tougher , but the game v Tigers will be a good test of what they can - or can't ! - do.
We will likely have Smooch and Habib back by R23 , but if not , I reckon these chaps will not let us down.
