Towers, Laidler, Shaw, Reid, Biggs and Goodes are all possible candidates depending on opposition match-ups.

No insult to the performance of those players but we may face a team (namely Fremantle) where ball extraction from the middle is critical, especially when we're likely to be smashed in hit-outs.

I don't mind sticking my neck out and saying Mitchell is more like Diesel than anyone else I've seen. How Longmire fits him into the top 22 is his problem. But a fit Mitchell must play.

I said earlier in the week Reid would b a late out. But yes. I too would have played. Nankervis.

I suspect the coaches are thinking that nanka is no chance of playing finals so may as well get as much game time into towers who is an outside chance of playing finals if injuries dictated it.

Quickest team of the year. The ins - Shaw, Smith and Mitchell in combination are quicker than Kennedy, Bird and Reid. It will be interesting to see how things work.
