Agree. A Swans supporter friend of mine at work said last week she went on the Geelong BF(I think) website, and while most there were supportive of Goodes and the Cats stance on this issue, there were some who were not, and even links posted to certain hate sites and threads devoted to those who 'hate Goodes'(sigh), so yes, next week will be a BIG test. I like the Cats as a club, and hope their fans don't let the footy world down. Yesterdays fantastic scenes at the SCG and others matches and the subsequent positive media coverage should send a strong message to those who would seek to go backwards on this issue.....

Perhaps Geelong as a club could cater for the small minority of their fans who probably still want to boo Goodesy, by dedicating a small enclosure to them. Hopefully, it will be caged, with a poor view of the game, located near a malfunctioning amenities block and have a large sign saying 'Racist Area'. Of course, they may not get too many takers, because if there's one thing that I've learnt engaging the bigots on a couple of sites over the last week, is that no matter how racist the bilge that they come up with, they all have a myriad of reasons for claiming that they're not racists.

Good idea. And still plenty of room for Dermie, Aker and Mark Fine.

Walters and Pearce each did the Jetta dance after their goals. Great to see the support from the other Indigenous players. But I hope it wasn't meant to be a 'welcome to our club' dance.

He's been relentless about it, even with some of his colleagues, like John Ralph, trying to get him to reconsider his position. There still are a lot of public figures in the industry that are maintaining their stand on booing, so it will be interesting to see what ensues if Adam plays next week.
As with Dermott Brereton, I've called this one before too. Fine is another one who can never bring himself to say anything that could possibly be perceived as pro Swans. But what you need to keep in mind is that his intellectual capabilities basically extend to being able to wipe his own botty and catch public transport. And that's it. Anything more nuanced than that and he struggles. This is just another of many examples.

Pretty well just what I had in mind, Ludwig: but I'd possibly take away the towels and replace them with a few old copies of the Daily Telegraph for their ablutions.

Charlie Pickering destroys the 'not racist' claims of Adam Goodes booing apologists on 'The Weekly'

Humour can sometimes get to the point better than anything else. Watch this Charlie Pickering video if you need convincing.

                Yep love that video.

Interestingly I shared it in Facebook and got zero comments or likes. To me it was obvious what Charlie's point is but I wonder if for some people it goes straight over their heads. My favourite part is the Alan jones mirror comment. How idiotic does that make Alan jones look !!

                    Just an idea.

If instead of booing when any opposition player gets the ball/kicks for goal etc, why don't fans support their club by starting a chant up i.e Sydney, Geelong, Hawthorn etc or is this too simplistic?

I was just going by the news from the radio. They made it sound like it was a special one.
They mentioned that we may find out more about Goodes.

Is that why I'm getting the feeling Adam is retiring ... Just believes it's now too much of a distraction for the team .
May be completely wrong tho .

Chip Le Grand, Patrick Smith and Keven Bartlett are all having a go at the AFL Commission for their weak stance on the Goodes booing. Smith said Vlad would have handled this with his usual iron fist, not this wishy washy group that doesn't even know racism when it hits them in the face. The clubs and the players, those that actually play the game, made it very clear what they think. Gillon & Co. have been left behind still wondering what's happening. Not in the least surprised from the folks that brought you the trading ban.

Pretty pathetic that Mike Fitzpatrick can't find anything to say , nothing , to say, write or document on the matter . Staggering .
