It was as we predicted : North couldn't handle all our tall forwards. The marks I50 were the real difference. But it will be a lot tougher next week , regardless of our opponents.

Fine game by Ranga. Benny only six CPs ? Looked like he had more : absolute terrier.

Yeah, for all the nonsense about COLA why don't we challenge the establishment teams' right to always have a home grand final? We were minor premiers for God's sake.

I'll be barracking hard for Port tomorrow.

For those who weren't watching Bruce & Dennis: that was the Swans' highest ever finals score and biggest winning margin in a final (previous 60 points over the Cats in 1934).

Hard to imagine a better game. The Franklin-Tippett combo worked perfectly. Goodes and Rohan who'd been out of sorts were sensational. Pyke, who was supposed to get worked over by Goldsterin, more than held his own. The usual suspects in the midfield pumping the ball in. Cunningham did a job on Boomer. Ball movement was fast and flawless. And Parker's mark.

In the last quarter, when we were supposed to put the cue in the rack, we kept on going.

Looking forward to the Hawks and Power flogging each other.

Stunning effort by the boys, not a weak performance anywhere. We are really well set for next week.

Massive game from Pykie winning the hit outs over Goldstein.

Outstanding performance. Parker showing that he should have been an AA player but doesn't care that he wasn't. Rohan & Goodes played their best games of the season. Smith & Cunningham executed their roles perfectly. No weak players tonight.

In most games between two decent sides, even if one team gains ascendency, there will be a point where the other team will dominate for a while. Knowing North's tendency to play in bursts, I kept waiting for them to have their spell, rueing that we had missed so many scoring opportunities and hoping that North wouldn't score too quickly while they were on top. That time simply never came. The Swans just didn't give them the chance. There might have been the odd 5 minutes spells when the pressure let up a little and allowed a couple of quick Roo goals, but then they turned the valve back on and clamped down against all over the ground. It was almost at the levels of the Geelong game in terms of four quarters of sustained effort.

If this can be repeated next week, it is going to take a super effort from either Hawthorn or Port to match us.

Im glad liz it wasnt only me that worried about north having a surge and leaving us to rue our inaccurateness in front of goals.

There were 9 rushed points so if you take out them out then 19 goals 13 still looks pretty good. I'm a bit worried that, North applied ineffective pressure which flattered our performance a bit. They went in hard but had no real direction coming out of a contest. We won't get such an easy run next week. Luckily we're adaptable... and all class!

?We had some brilliant roles from some individuals too, and obviously Harry Cunningham had a huge job on Brent Harvey and ?Smooch? (Nick Smith) again put (Lindsay) Thomas to sleep.

Only the seventh page, we must have enjoyed ourselves.

Have to note one thing that made me laugh. They were all polished and pomaded for the event.

Rampe has shaved that moth off his upper lip,
                              Reg was fully shaved......!!!!
NicMal's face and head was groomed to perfection (his anyway)
Those with bald heads were polished.
                              All beards were trimmed.
                              Hair was freshly cut.

Not a sloppy look amongst any of them.

Yeah yeah, I know, but it was something I noticed and thought well that's a bit different! I mean Reg always looks like a hessian bag. Didn't spot him at first.

                              Wonder who drove that!
If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhood

Gee he is a good footballer and so deserving of finally get recognition as an AA.

A Roos fan in front of me was berating how rubbish Thomas had been.... until someone told him the Human Glove Nick Smith was playing on him. His response - who?
