As good as Rioli can be, I'd much rather be in our position with a stable line-up. It could be a stroke of genius or backfire terribly.

Isn't the Melbourne Cyggy a Hawks fan (from 2012 memory) ? Hope we have him contracted through September (sorry mods)
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

He was just making fun of how penny-pinching Kieren is, Hanners said KJ would coast downhill to save money on petrol! But that sounds true haha

Yes I was glad to see them pick Cyril - I think it's more than a 50/50 chance that he'll struggle. Hopefully he'll be off the pace and we can run off him - it does seem a touch desperate to me....

            I agree. It's a desperate selection.
IMO, if they were confident of beating us they would of stuck with Simpkin, he's very unlucky and would of given them plenty.
Also surprised they dropped Ceglar...he can mark and kick goals. MvEvoy is in to defend.
Looks to me like they want a tight defensive struggle, in the hope of pinching it.
To me, the mindset of these selections is one of hope not conviction.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

There's a Melbourne Cyggy? What other conspiracies do I need to know about? Was the moon landing even real?

McEvoy moves well around the ground. Could test Pyke's endurance forward and back. Rioli provides a match-up headache if they position him as a permanent small forward. Either Smith comes off Breust or Shaw goes back, minimising his run off half-back.

To me though it's a little crazy to put two guys with no recent match fitness in the seniors straight into a Grand Final, especially after the flat final quarter they had against Port.

Cyril certainly provides a match up headache, as you certainly can't leave him alone. That's probably one of their main reasons, surely they can't expect him to be a match winner coming off his preparation. It's a tactical selection by the hawks, and it's a huge gamble. The fact they feel they need to make such a large gamble on a player in a GF shows they know they will need something special to win, at least that's how i see it.

I would play Rohan on Cyril. He has the pace, height, athleticism and confidence to keep Cyril quiet one on one. He will also hurt Cyril the other way and could force Cyril,s hamstring into the danger zone through making him chase.

                        And Shaw to Puopolo?

What are people's tips for subs for the respective teams?

If I recall correctly for our past 4 GFs we have gone in unchanged. Have I remembered right? So glad that we have been stable and not have to drop anyone. And we don't have to worry about injured players like 2012 when there were question marks over Ted and Mummy.

I'm starting to get nervous after watching all the footy programs!!

Looking forward to the parade tomorrow and being amongst fellow swans supporters ????.

I actually dig port's colours. But still good question.
I'm thinking something along the lines of wearing a memento of those conquered and defeated in battle.
