Jetta has to go imo... he is half the player he was 2 years ago. Grundy OMG every week he makes some kind of fundamental error. Jack had a brain explosion today, twice in front of goal he completely refused to either pass the ball to a player in better field position then him, or just held on to it and was caught holding the ball. Kurt, has to be one of the slowest players in the history of sports in general

great height, and not the worse kick, but has issues at catching the ball and movement.
Goodes been a great player for the swans, but alas time is calling for him to retire. The swans would have done better with O'keefe and LRT playing for them, rather then sitting in the back of a ute. Lance had a great game around very average teammates

Doesn't hurt like the '96 loss for some reason. It will be a difficult challenge for the club to recover from this disaster but I think we'll cope. It'd be worthwhile snooping out a copy of the confidential internal review, when it's done, to see what we really learned. Overwhelmed or underprepared? Coaches or players at fault? Enough blame to go 'round, I should think. For me, Franklin proved himself and while some tried hard, too many didn't. A great opportunity has been lost but there will be others. We'll come back next year more determined and out for redemption.

There is No doubt the Swans will be stronger for this next year and wouldn't surprise me if they win the next GF. But some players may have to be moved on as they show a real lack of effort when the going gets tough. jetta :P

Just disappointing.

I was pretty doubtful of our chances before the game because I felt they matched up so well on us. But the goodes hand pass in the first, the grundy spoil, the pressure from their half forwards and some fickle bounces just put us in a difficult position.

If you don't think the boys are gutted then you have either never played a match or you need a crash course in becoming a true supporter

Well we finished the season just like we started. Woeful. Were we outcoached today. Did Longmire expect kicks down the line and all they did was 20 meter passes to open spaces, which we could not handle?? Or was it a matter of prima donnas, believe all the hype about how good they are? When we are just workman types and have to work hard both ways! These could damage us for he next 2-3 year. I be surprised if any flag comes our way within 2 years. I agree its time to ditch Jetta, he was a one season wonder.

I don't think it unreasonable to ask why so little was learned from the periods where the hawks get on top if us and kick goals from repeat entries.

We needed to throw ourselves heavily in to the centre contests in the first half to negate the Hawks clean disposal and home ground advantage we could of have stayed with them, it just didn't happen we seemed to lack mobility in the midfield and defense.

Everybody can rant about some player @@@@ing up. the fact there were so many of them we never got going. But the fact is the coaches stuffed up completely. The match ups were wrong and Birdie should have played from the start. The mids strategies were terrible and the Hawks were ready for anything we did. We telegraphed every move and they countered. I am gong to say this now, we need to look forward to a premiership and this side will never win one. They are not good enough, they don't try hard enough. Nic Mal get @@@@@@ and go to Melbourne! He wasted the ball on more than 70% of occasions today. Shaw, retire please! About time we got someone who can actually kick the @@@@ing ball to someone!!! We were found out today. We didn't want it and the players who didn't want it were the players who actually had a premiership. Reg, Mal, Rhyce, Hannas tried but therer were too many experienced players just off the pace. I hate Mal, Reg & Shaw after today. It was as though they really tried to lose it for us. They can get the @@@@ to another footy club!!!

By the way stewie dew's rotations and mids strategies were @@@@e! They have been all year. just great mids make it happen. But today we came up against superior coaching and a team that actually wanted to win. We had too many players that were @@@@ty at Franklin & Tippett's salary!! Our coaching staff were crap!

let's talk about match ups; bird should have started and gone to Mitchell. His replacement, Lloyd didn't even play on Mitchell, they decided to have a shoot out between Mitchell & Parker, not good as Lewis picked up Parker. Rohan should have got Gunston but didn't. Rampe played almost all the match on Gunston, don't get that, even when Rampe was getting killed Horse persevered. Rampe went to Bruest in the last. Bruest should have got Rampe for the whole game giving Rampe a better chance of getting used to him. It doesn't matter who Reg got he was so @@@@e it wouldn't have mattered. Why do we need to have a whole group of players fly for a mark & leave no players down? When did this start to happen? The coaching lost us the match before half time. We need to get rid of a few senior players in the trade period. There are problems about the Franklin/Tippett deals from some of the experienced players. Mal to Melbourne, Reg the same or Crows, Shaw retired or traded, Goodsie retire, he has to to get team balance. We need to get an inside/out mid and I think Hewitt will fill that role. Today if we played Tommy Mitchell he would have matched Sammy Mitchell. I think we made some very bad player decisions.

Not so uninformed... I witnessed it first hand when I was involved in the club in the dark days of 93....Loss after loss, and I can guarantee you that good proportion of that team was out of the emotional doldrums by the time they arrived at the Moore Park after game functions. Even Kenny Williams used to say to me..."Mate...get over it...you are taking it a lot worse than they are..." Guess that came back to haunt me today...

BTW...A true supporter...I never missed attending a home game for the 19 years In lived in Sydney and have never missed a game on TV since I have not...For two years I devoted my time free of charge for the players entertainment fund...
