Agree with Dermie, we have some jobbers but then again so do most teams.

Buddy's money is not a problem if we pay Tippett what he is actually worth going forward. Buddy's money is also not excessive going forward with an increased salary cap, the nine year term might be though!

How do you know this? Although when Schneider gave evidence at Andrew Lovett's trial he could recall having at least 23 alcoholic drinks on the night.

We all know that we are basically banned from trading in anyone of decent quality but does anyone know if we have a ban on signing any unrestricted free agents? I just had a look at the list on the swans website/app and noticed that Robbie Tarrant is an unrestricted free agent. At 196cm, 97 kg and 26 years of age I would be hoping that the swans would have already had a quiet word in his managers ear!

I was also told that Schneider didn't buy into the team culture (small town boy in the big city) and was leading some of the kids in the wrong direction. Dempster himself said he was the steak knives in the deal - he was/is better than that.

It got plenty of coverage. Your mate may not know his AFL quite as much as you or he believes. It seemed most people, with the exemption of Hawks fans and Eddie McGuire, were pretty puzzled by the whole thing, and saw the unfairness in it. I had plenty of discussions about it with work colleagues, mates etc all supporters of other teams and who Brough it up themselves without me prompting them.
Sorry MB. I have to disagree on that. I'm in Melbourne and very very few footy followers down here know about it. Even friends of mine who follow the game closely don't know. I'm sure they would have heard about it in the news when it happened but because they don't give a damn about us, they've forgotten about it.

I must say, it's refreshing to watch Malceski butcher the ball and hand the opposition a goal for the Suns instead of us! Mal was an important player for us but I always felt his kicking was overrated! He got that many kicks from running past that of course some of them would be quality, but he sure did have his fair share of howlers!

Although I must say he's having a howler tonight against the Suns! Lol.

The AFL will probably come up with some rule saying this can't happen, or they may already have put something like this in place, but.... are we allowed to sign a player, to lets say a three year contract for $1.2 million? However, only pay them $300k next season and $450k in 2017/18? The cola will be phased out by the 2017 season so by then we have no 'advantage' or 'inequality' with our salary cap.
I See It But I Don't Believe It!!!!

From what I believe they decide what a player is worth so I doubt we could do that.

More of the same really, but at least the media is talking about it

Yep waste of time cos no one cares and it's not going to change. AFL have stuffed the swans simply cos we took Buddy. AFL are a cheating organisation

It hurts other teams as well.
                            Doesn't make for effective trading.
                            Still sucks.
                            Big time.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I'm surprised the AFLPA haven't made more noise.
                              Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)

A little when it all started, 'restraint of trade' for individual player concerns etc, but nothing since. I guess the sad truth is, they're Melbourne based too.......
