Wow. This is major. Eddie jumping camp looks like he expects an instant regime change. Go Richard!

I like the current Swans management but love Richard.

I wonder what, in the AFL's response to the Goodes saga caused Richard to pull the pin out of this hand grenade?

          Wow.
When Andrew Pridham said we had bigger fish to fry at the AFL, he really meant it.

Good on you Dicky. About time you came out and exposed them for what they are.

Can someone please tell me whose side Eddie is on now?
Can you @@@@en believe he's denying any knowledge?

          I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

The first use of the term, in the second sentence, could be either - ie the "his" is ambiguous. But later on, the following links the whingeing to McGuire, not Colless.

This is what I?ve been screaming about for years and it?s always been thrown back as ?whingeing McGuire? and all that sort of stuff. Now it?s laid bare.

Eddie will be spinning as hard as he can to cover up his position, but which position, the way I read it was that Colless was whingeing, or Fitzpatrick or Eddie himself claiming "I am the Messiah"?

I think Eddie means he has been griping on Collingwood's behalf, but in his usual foot-in-mouth style has ended in confusion. One thing you can be sure of is that he will put his club first and foremost.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Why are we hearing this now? I don't understand the timing.

We copped our ban and the watered down COLA. We should've heard this when the restrictions were imposed. I don't see the point now, the damage is done.

I'm not 100% sure of the timeline regarding the trade ban and Colless' employment at the Swans, but surely as he is no longer officially aligned or affiliated with the club, he has less of a noose around his neck? It's a great way of damaging the credibility of the "overlords" and displaying the attempted manipulation by head office "for the good of the game" when all clubs know that the only one looking after you is yourself.

Yeah, true enough. I'm just not sure it does us any good.

Supporters will feel vindicated, opposers will say it's typical Swans whingeing (while also saying that Swans are always "looked after" by AFL in the same breath)

You are right on the money Wauchope, unfortunately people in the media who may have not been biased before have been influenced and tainted by Mcguire's constant tirades against the swans, I cannot watch commentary of our games now as they may me sick with their one sided views ..whatever happened to impartiality and calling the game for what it is . I simply mute the sound now because if we are in front on the scoreboard they are looking for ways for whichever team it is to get back into it and if we are behind they simply sink the boot in ,cannot win ...., like most here I love the swans and the way we play the game . I really hope we can upset wet toast or freo in the first week of the finals and kick our way to another flag ..c'mon the bloods

Richard Colless is a genius. Never forget that.

At the beginning of the year, after complaining to Andrew Pridham that they should not have just bent over and taken it, Andrew told me that we bent on this because there are bigger fish to fry.
I believe this is what he was talking about.

By bringing this out now, he's showing the rest of the AFL community exactly what is happening behind closed doors.

There's still plenty of time in this season to lift the restriction on our trading.
