But the thing is that what North are doing is against the rules as outlined in Rule 29.

"Clubs must at all times perform honestly and to the best of their ability in the pursuit only of legitimate competitive objectives.
For the avoidance of doubt, 'legitimate competitive objective' includes the development of the team or players or management of player fatigue or injuries but does not include improving a club's draft position, improving a club's position with respect to a potential player exchange or manipulating a club's position on the ladder for the purpose of improving its draw within the finals series."

North are improving its draw in the finals by ensuring they don't have to travel interstate to play Adelaide!
Exactly right, and the fact that Gillon & Co. can't see and acknowledge this, or do see it but still allow it, is astounding! They must think the footy public is stupid(actually, in regard to most Melbourne based fans, they'd be right!) or, and this is probably more to the point, because they're so drunk on 'power' and agendas they just don't give a @@@@!

Interested to read GWS are chasing a second ruckman this trade period...Leunberger or Zac Smith.

Given we are also keen on these two ruckman, makes me think the ban will remain....

To ensure we have no chance of getting either and ruining GWS's party yet again.

To remove the ban now would remove the advantage, for GWS, that they have created.

We really must take these clowns to court if they persist with the ban.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

Let them have Leuenberger, we'll take Smith, but you're right, off to court to stop this crap for good.....as David Galbally QC said a week or more ago, 'get the paperwork in, the Swans would win it'. (Not a direct quote, but what he said in a nutshell) They should go for it, but being in the finals might have something to do with that. Pity.....if that's the case.

The AFL are delaying any announcement to maximize damage to the swans.

If they say "no change", they will announce it prior to a cut throat "away" final. GF if no away final.

If the say ban is dropped it wont be until we are out of the finals.

I hope the Swans are preparing the court injunction. I wonder what the best timing to serve it is ?

Agreed. It was a pretty dumb assertion. There are 10,000 Swans members in Melbourne. Plus most AFL supporters here are very astute and follow the game by the minute. People interstate would be surprised at the high % of supporters here who think the AFL is poorly run.

I just noticed that the person who made the statement is from Castlemaine in Victoria. What the. Must have a chip on the shoulder with Melbournians. Or could it be categorized as an oxymoron.

I'll try posting this one last time: Ernie Koala, your new sign off is hilarious!!

Not sure why you would say this about Melbourne based fans because it makes no sense.
It wasn't long ago the Sydney public were "unfairly ridiculed for their lack of understanding of the game" after the Swans mover from Melbourne to Sydney....

I read stevoswans "melbourne based fans" to mean AFL fans in general, not swans melbourne Members.

Gilly summed up what melbourne think of sydney when he forgot the GWS existed on Marngrook.

Just close your eyes and listen to the force. The need to be offended runs deeply with this one.

With this sort of effort around the ball you would have to think about Hewett a go. Towers is making the choice hard though.Playing well.
