Have you ever seen the Swans administration facilities at the SCG?
Have you ever gone downstairs and seen the locker rooms?
The ice pool in the locker rooms?
The gym?
The SCG Trust have certainly gone out of their way to ensure that their WINTER tenant is kept happy.
That's what landlords do.
It's also he same landlord that built a rl stadium adjoining the SCG.
It's also he same landlord that charged the Swans 2.5 times the NSWRLin rent for 11 home games at the SCG versus a season and finals at the SFS.give it to the gameComment

It's also he same landlord that vetoed a Swans supporters headquarters building adjoining the SCG.
Due to ongoing developement which wasn't finalised at the time.
It's also he same landlord that built a rl stadium adjoining the SCG.
So what?
It's also he same landlord that charged the Swans 2.5 times the NSWRLin rent for 11 home games at the SCG versus a season and finals at the SFS.
Crowd numbers, or lack there of in the case of NRL, have a large say in rental agreements.
And to Barry...Get over it......And the Anzac Bridge. You might actually see why the vast majority are happy with the SCG as our Sole venue.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Love the announcement!
On the swans website it notes "the new deal also included the provision for the AFL to schedule finals matches at the SCG".
I take this to mean if we have a home final against a team with a small travelling supporter base (e.g. Kangaroos), the game will be at the SCG. Would the AFL force us to play at ANZ if we play a Collingwood where we could have an over capacity crowd at the SCG?Comment

Will be interesting to see how Tony Shepherd from GWS goes as the new SCG Trust Chairman - probably a bigger conflict than Richard Colless who is no longer officially involved with the SwansComment

So what if the SCG did everything in it's power to stifle the flagship of Australian Football in Sydney ? Are you serious.
Are you denying history? This isn't a pussing contest you know.
It is fact that the SCG was dominated by destructive rl types. Past tense. Thank God (or whoever).
Hopefully the synergy between cricket and Australian Football has returned to the SCG.
The evidence w.r.t. the new contract suggests that it has with both stakeholders working together and common sense prevailing.
Initially it was thought that ANZ stadium with Mike Fitzpatrick would be a big boost to the Swan's future with competition for tenants and the availability of a high profile - high capacity Olympic stadium. This did not eventuate as ANZ pitched for rl tenants, people realized the stadium's shortcomings and there were problems with the playing surface.
One wonders what the scenaro would be now if ANZ had offered dirt cheap rent to the Swans. I'd suggest we'd be be playing out of two stadiums and complaining like hell. Fortunately, it looks like the pain was worth suffering for but I cannot help think we'd have arrived at this a lot earlier if the SCG had been run by cricket people. Way back in history the SCG did offer football to be it's winter tenant.give it to the gameComment

All weve heard is some motherhood statements about it being "almost as good as some other deals".
Details of the new contract have not been make public, and even the most ordinary of spin-doctors from within the swans would have been able to leak a few winners.... if there are any.Comment

I suspect, once Richard Colless joined the SCG, and fair bidding process for hosting Swans games by ANZ was lost.
The fact that they concocted a "members survey" to determine the ground, instead of strategic , economic rationality, implies more propaganda than substance.Comment
