If you take the time to look outside your "little victoria" view of Sydney, you might have found a recent survey by Galaxy which found...


Key highlights of the survey include:
- Three-quarters of the Sydney population (76%) support the proposed redevelopment of ANZ Stadium.
- Nearly half of all Sydneysiders (45%) believe that upgrading the city?s Olympic stadium should be a higher priority for the NSW State Government than upgrading Allianz Stadium (29%) or Parramatta Stadium (25%).
- The majority of Sydneysiders rate ANZ Stadium as an iconic venue of national significance and, of the three stadium options, it is the preferred venue and location to view major events, and the best located in terms of providing easy access for people in the Greater Sydney area.
- A massive 90% of Sydneysiders agree that it is important that Sydney and NSW continues to have a large stadium that can hold 80,000-plus spectators.

Most Sydneysiders (55%) did not support ANZ as the preferred model.(from your figures)
The survey did not mention other options like a new stadium or SCG etc.
The beauty about ANZ is it is in fact it is well served by transport and Sydney really needs some rail link that would benefit the SCG now that is trendy to call the area a "sports precinct" were in fact previously it mistakenly clumped stadia together with the thought of creating mayhem.

"The poll of more than 1000 Sydneysiders was funded by ANZ Stadium operators after Premier Mike Baird @announced the government would investigate how to best invest about $300 million @between the Homebush venue and Parramatta Stadium."

Wonder what the other four-and-a-half million Sydneysiders thought?

I dont pay attention to surveys no more. Most of them are skewed for outcomes.

This one is just another.

We live in a time where manipulation by big corp is out of control and low and behold here is another one that is skewed to favour a specific outcome for the company performing that very survey.

Should be consigned to the trash can.

Barry what have you got to say? Or where you out doing the survey on behalf of your masters?

Sydney are playing at the SCG from 2017 for the next 30 years. Its a bit of a pointless conversation really.

This corporate bashing has got to stop! Why can?t we admire achievers at the big end of town as much as someone who can kick a ball?

As far as I?m concerned, If you have a go at the corporate big end of town you are insulting Andrew Pridham. You can?t call Pridham a legend and then attack his peers, friends and colleagues at the same time. Make a choice? If you love Andrew Pridham, you can no longer attack the big end of town. Get on the bus!

Even though the survey was funded by The ANZ Stadium Management it does mean its findings are useless. You need to drill further into the survey data, design and location to get a more accurate picture.

The implementation of light rail along ANZAC Parade would be a obvious if the government is serious about area.

The implementation of light rail along ANZAC Parade would be a obvious if the government is serious about area.

The Tibby Cotter Bridge work is underway and is supposed to be finished in time for the Cricket World Cup in 2015. This is the first piece that, added to the light rail which is currently in the early stages of development, will enhance access to the SCG for public transport users.

What evidence exactly do you have to argue 'future fans' and 'potential converts' favour ANZ? How can you know what 'future fans' prefer or what 'potential converts' favour, when by nature, they don't even know they follow the Swans yet? Talk about drawing a ridiculously long bow....

No it doesn't mean its findings are useless, but its more than likely that those undertaking the survey were told to find a particular outcome - ANZ is hardly going to instruct the survey people to setup a survey that isn't set up wherever possible to give ANZ as a preferred ground?

Its no different to the ridiculous analysis that comes out time and time again from Government in relation to 'pet projects' - where the company doing the work is told the answer to the question before they've been asked the question or done any work.

No it's not all. If you don't back the big corporate end of town then you don't back Andrew Pridham. Pridham would not be the outstanding Chairman he is, without the strong corporate grounding he has experienced.

If you are anti-corporate you are stating that you don't support Andrew Pridham. You can't benefit from Pridham's elite management skills and be critical of his colleagues, friends and business associates.

The Swans would not be where they are today without the support and leadership of corporate titans like Richard Colless and Andrew Priham. It's those elite corporate skills that saved the club in the early 90s.

I don't think we would have gone as far with a socialist like Lea Rhiannon in the presidents chair.
