I don't think anyone has that delusion Aardvark - I think most of us just want the chance to cheer him back onto the park as a first step.

I think many (myself included) wonder just how good he might have been without the injury curse. Of course as JPK considers, there is a sense of optimism bias based upon a small sample, but he did do pretty well for a young kid at that stage of his career.

The greatest spin bowler in history had to undergo a fitness training to get fit as he was a fat git. He was letting the side down in the field and thesefore they deliberately put him in the outfield at one stage to teach him a lesson about fitness. He puffed like an old steam engine. Warne retired early because he was a selfish, lazy sod.

        Pre-season News

What gives with all this macho boys' toys stuff pre-season? First our Swannies spent a day with the NSW Police at Goulburn with guns and fast cars, now I read Gold Coast Suns have spent a day with the Army climbing ropes, jumping into water etc. Does it help their footy skills? I used to call in sick when we had those sort of 'team building' exercises at work. Always thought it was a lot of psycho mumbo jumbo!

There is a photo of our sadly departed Nick crawling through a pipe (as you do on a footy field) on the AFL website.

They usually do something different in preseason each year. Mostly I think it's just to add variety to the training sessions.

Ehh what do you want them to do, sit around knitting? Tell each other how they are feeling? Learn domestic chores to keep the wife happy? They are men and doing what males do.

This emasculating behaviour from a lot of women in this day and age, especially the new age SJW feminists, needs to stop.

I don't really understand JPK12's campaign to discredit him at the moment. Noone is saying he was going to be a superstar, but he did pretty damn well for a young player in a Premiership team.
Campaign to discredit him? Listen to yourself.

It's good for team building and it is also good for using muscles that normal training might not utilize. It also breaks up the monotony of normal training which would become boring day in day out. I've always wondered if footy teams have to pay for this sort of stuff or whether it is considered cross promotion. Anyone know?

Take a chill pill mate. Western gender roles are a social construct anyway, that have only resulted in 500,000 acts of violence against women inflicted by men in the past 12 months. Is that men just doing what males do?

Before we all have a cry about this "emasculating behaviour", think about how "awesome" the masculine behaviour of men of this day and age has made the world a better place.
