It is an amphitheatre and a good size ground. In the past they've let you drive your car right to the edge. Honk the horn at a goal or a bad umpiring decision - that sort of stuff. I'm hoping they'll let the cars in for this event. Good chance to smuggle in some take-way and your favourite beverages and enjoy a great twilight event.

I love the sound of Jetts in the backline as it could have huge offensive potential. But my fear is that teams would quickly work out that isolating him deep could be a major plus for them as his one on one game and tackling strength hasn't exactly been a highlight of his early career! Time may tell though...Comment

Perhaps they are expanding his roles and making him a multi faceted player. In the past he has been a one trick pony and teams have shut him down far too easily and horse didnt know what to do with him so they left him. He can't be carried anymore and with his silky kicking skills he is being wasted.
It seems horse and co have come up with more options with our game plan. This means two things, we will be less predicable this year and well perhaps another slow start to the season as the players adjust to a new game plan..haha not again.Comment

I doubt Jetta would be a starting 6 defender as such, more of a -start on the wing and push back to be the extra- type player, this would make it much harder to isolate him deep. Teams would also be wary of his offensive capabilities and be likely to play a defensive forward on him.
And with Reid, given the amount of ruckwork Tip has been doing in the pre-season, I'd say he's more likely to be a permanent defender as opposed to a swingman. Reid's field kicking also shouldn't be underestimated coming out of the backline, he has his nerves in front of goal but his skills in general are sublime.Twitter @cmdil

I reckon they're only running Jets in the backline to teach him to become more accountable defensively. I'd be very surprised if he lined up on the hbf this year. It would certainly weaken our defense.Comment

Agree about Jetta very driven boy on game days i watched him twice in queensland ,and in Sydney hes the first on the track on game days, and the last to leave ,only needs a defensive aspect to his game another for the backline !Comment

Dan Robinson gets a bit of it as well. As I said in another thread, we have so much midfield depth, players like Hewett, Robinson, Heeney and Jones need to be rotated through the team regularly. They are not going to hang around forever when not getting game time. Just like Membrey.Comment

I notice that Franklin had a heavy bandage over his knee again.
He had the same sort of dressing at the last training session I saw in Sydney and I put it down to a knee rash or cut he may have been protecting because it didn't seem to be too restrictive.
Seeing it again seems to indicate something a bit more serious, maybe something arthroscopic in nature?Comment
