Obviously you don't understand irony, probably pronounce it, ion ie, like the Yanks. It's called using satirical comment to make a boring preseason a little less boring. You might try it some time.Comment

Dan Robinson gets a bit of it as well. As I said in another thread, we have so much midfield depth, players like Hewett, Robinson, Heeney and Jones need to be rotated through the team regularly. They are not going to hang around forever when not getting game time. Just like Membrey.
1) Open opportunity for Mitchell, Hewitt, Heeney, Mills, Dunkley and maybe Robinson. This is the midfield for the future. These guys are like young dragons who have hatched and are just about to be unleashed across the narrow sea to attack Eddie at Kings Landing. These young midfielders could rule the Iron Throne for ten years if we give them the opportunity.
2) Reduce salary cap.
3) Earn enough draft points to secure Mills and Dunkley.Comment

That's why I'm advocating for some trades to be made. Bird and two of Smith, Hannas or Jetta must be traded at the end of 2015. These trades need to be done for the following reasons:
1) Open opportunity for Mitchell, Hewitt, Heeney, Mills, Dunkley and maybe Robinson. This is the midfield for the future. These guys are like young dragons who have hatched and are just about to be unleashed across the narrow sea to attack Eddie at Kings Landing. These young midfielders could rule the Iron Throne for ten years if we give them the opportunity.

3) Earn enough draft points to secure Mills and Dunkley.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Trade Hanners and Smith to secure a couple of players in the draft that may turn out to be as good as Hanners and Smith - Makes senseThose who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

Okay. People are saying keep Smith and Hannas.
No one is saying keep Craig Bird. What do people think he is worth?I would say he is worth between pick 25-33.
Is there any other stock on the senior list that people would trade to raise points?Comment

Matt80, whilst I normally enjoy your banter, I must say I would turn my membership in if we were to trade Hanna's! He is a young bloke brought up from draft age who clearly bleed's for the club, remember his mark in the 2012 gf?! He is, along with Park's, what our club has built the Bloods culture on! What will be, will be and I trust Andrew Ireland, Tom Harley and the team to stick with these young blokes who any other club would give their right arm to have, it is not about talent or potential but character which is no 1 in my book!!Last edited by Snork; 7 February 2015, 09:50 PM.Comment

I think one of our biggest mistakes in the GF was to have Lloyd starting and Bird as sub. Should have been other way round. And there is no way I would drop him AT THIS STAGE for any youngster, no matter how talented. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. It's fair enough to recognise that we have tremendous depth in our midfield, particularly due to the young talent that has come to the club in the last few years, and perhaps the next year as well. And it's also being realistic that there simply is not enough room for everyone. Young talent will want to go elsewhere if they don't get playing opportunities. And player movements are likely in such circumstances.
Having said that, it's just not the right time of year to be suggesting trading our regular midfield players. It is quite possible that some of the youngsters will push out an established player as the year progresses. We will have to wait and see. Then there is always the possibility of injury. Sometimes the year unfolds in a way that makes a player trade obvious. At the end of the season we will know a lot more about who best fits our midfield of the future.
Premiership sides usually don't have a lot of kids running around in the midfield. It most often takes some wise old heads. I wouldn't be throwing out Hannerbery, Smith, Bird or Jetta so fast, especially when they are at an age when they should be at the top of their game.Comment

Some great photos from training at Coffs Harbour from the local paper. As far as I'm aware these photos haven't been posted on the Swans website.

He really captured the mood and atmosphere of a suburban ground.
Leave shutter burst on and use remote control. Fill memory card with as many sequenced shots.
Nothing special about these pics at all. Some of them are not even composed properly. Looks like my 12 year old took them with his DSLR.Comment
