    Goodes' best game?

I wanted to show my boys a good example of Goodes in his prime, which got me wondering, what would have been his best game? 2012 v Hawks in Launceston would compete, and I remember the 2006 GF as being a good game for him, ignoring the result. I remember being at a game in 2010 or 2011 and watching him and thinking 'how will the Swans survive without him?'

    Thoughts?

The day he had to go into the ruck because Stafford went down injured and I think Goodsey had a broken hand....he just dominated in a position he hadn't played before for the Swans...can't remember the year but obviously it was early...maybe the year he won the rising star.

The 2003 QF against Port at AAMI would be a candidate. I was at the game, and I remember a friend texting me at half time to "discuss" what was going down and he mentioned that the television commentators had run out of superlatives to describe Goodes' performance.

I agree DK. That 2012 match against the Hawks was a gem for Goodsey.

It was superb. I remember sitting down to watch it thinking we didn't have a chance and being treated to a masterclass by the champion!

Any of the above particularly the Port final.

Plus the final game of the 2006 home and away season against from memory Carlton.

The Brownlow speculation was high and he had around 30 possies and four goals. He really was on another planet that day

Goodes was pretty damn good in the 2013 game against Collingwood where the racism incident from the young spectator occurred, even if by then he would be classed as past his prime.

Also, this was either his 300th or 304th (Swans games record breaking) match.

This was my girlfriend's first AFL game. She didn't (and still doesn't) understand the game at all, but even she could tell he was dominating whatever it was that was happening on the field.

Micky O's 300th vs Richmond at the G.

Almost any of the games vs Collingwood when we couldn't beat them.

His game against Adelaide late in 2005 which we lost by a kick.

2005 against Adelaide. By a street.

                          Honourable mentions:

                          vs Melbourne in 2006
                          vs Fremantle in 2008
                          vs Collingwood in 2007

                            That may have been 2003...
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Yeah, 1999 against North. About his 3rd or 4th game. We came from about 7 goals down to win. Kelly broke a couple of tackles to kick a great goal and Maxfield kicked the winner.

I doubt it's anywhere near one of his better games but it was probably the night he announced that he'd be a player.
