    World's Best Practice

I've just had the absolute pleasure of watching Super Bowl 49.

It is an amazing spectacle and was an amazing game.

The AFL Grand Final needs to start stepping up. It looks like an amateur spectacle compared to the Super Bowl.

The AFL Grand Final gets Tom Jones, Ed Sherrin and a pub stage for entertainment. The Super Bowl gets the amazing Katie Perry and an even more incredible light and graphics show. There will also incredible fireworks. There is a huge difference.

According to AFL.com, Gill is attending the Super Bowl. Hopefully he is learning Worlds Best Practice.

We need to move the AFL to an afternoon / evening time slot and create a World Class half time show. We need a World Class star as well!

The GF will always be about the game itself here, I don't think the majority of Aussies are all that interested in a glitz and glamour half tine show. We could do a better job with the acts chosen though.

The Super Bowl has become so big because it appeals a wide audience and by association gets people interested in the NFL. My wife looks forward to the half time show every year.

The AFL have a great product. It should be looking to take on the World like the NFL does.

A World class half time show, utilising the Worlds best talent (Katie Perry) would put the AFL GF on the international map. It would be the hook. Women around the World would then get into the bodies, while the blokes would start learning about the game and appreciating the physicality.

I'm hoping that Gill loved the Super Bowl experience and ready to take the AFL past it's Meat Loaf era.

        I couldn't give a @@@@ about the entertainment.
The yanks gave have there "spectacle", I'd prefer the event to be about the game.

If there was no entertainment. I'd cope. Get another beer and relax.

Just because the yanks do it, does not make it right.

The AFL GF will always be about the Football. I would like the AFL GF to become a World Wide Cultural phenomena like the Super Bowl. The AFL GF is loved by AFL converted people. I desire the AFL GF to start sucking in the non-AFL converted people of the World.

Let's be ambitious. The first Super Bowls occurred after divisions in the American Football game. They united, then got to work in creating the biggest show on earth. Why can't the AFL GF become one of the biggest shows on Earth?

Embracing popular culture and entertainment will broaden the World Wide appeal of the GF.

If we can get more World Wide appeal for the AFL game then more money will flow into the game. More money will increase the salary cap and help the AFL become even more professional.

Gees Matt just because you think everything that comes out of the states is golden doesn't mean we all have to.
I have actually attended the three GFs since Meatloaf and the before, half time and after game entertainment (though I didn't hang around for the after game concert in 2014) has been nothing short of brilliant and as I also attended the 2014 NRL GF and 2014 Melbourne Cup I can say quite honestly that in my personal opinion the AFL GF is by far the most entertaining and the premium sporting event in this country and that the very best thing about it is that it is still mainly about the game and the teams involved.
Oh and Katie Perry the worlds best talent??? What are you a 14yo girl??? They should have had Beaber on with her and that would have just completed the magic for you.

She could not, and did not, pull it off, she was lost in such a big arena. Maybe Lenny, by himself, could have done it but the situation calls for someone to own the arena and the crowd.

I actually enjoy NFL as a game, and it would be better if it it didn't stop so often. The thing that annoys me is the carry on by most (not all) of the footballers when they make a tackle, intercept or sack and then prance around like they are God's gift. If the game just continued they wouldn't have time for their celebrations.

The AFL GF is the best event in Australia, but I want it to become the best event in the World. It needs to start hitting the Super Bowl levels for entertainment.

Tom Jones is World Class, but he has passed the era where panties are thrown at him.

Katy Perry is the preeminent World Music Entertainment star. Katy Perry is a "performer of the people" not just teenage girls. This point is evidenced by the fact that the Sunrise morning show had their highest rating show of 2014, when they presented the Katy Perry Opera House morning concert. If only teenage girls liked Katy Perry then Sunrise would have had the lowest ratings day of the year. Katy is clearly a performer with a wide demographic.

How good was the light and graphic show that supported Katy? Wow! Then they had the fireworks.

If the AFL moved to a late afternoon slot, then it would be dark for the half time show, which could open up all sorts of concert possibilities.

We need to start becoming Worlds Best Practice with our entertainment at the AFL GF. Maybe the AFL could start doing a male version of the Victoria's Secret underwear show, showcasing players not involved in the GF. Imagine the YouTube hits World Wide that the show would get. Women on Red and White would love to see Tippett strutting down the catwalk if the Swans were not grand finalists. This is just an idea.

I would personally prefer Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus than Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. A Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry duo of "I kissed a girl" would be incredible!

Maybe you are. Heaven knows what Matt's on.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
