I think in its simplicity, Horse has actually highlighted his wish for Tom, and it isn't a throw away line.
This is still the best post I have read about Mitchell. People keep forgetting that he strung quite a few games together in the second half of 2013 and looked the goods until he got injured in the semi-final. He had a few injury interruptions last year, which set him back a bit, and when he was fit the side was winning, so he had to force his way back in through the twos. He's always been part of our plans, and I haven't seen any evidence to suggest otherwise.

      Interview with Tom on SEN
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Sounds like a very humble young man and answered all questions exactly the way horse would have wanted. Hope theses last few games are the start of a long and prosperous career in the red and white with hopefully no more setbacks. I still believe that with natural improvement Tom could one day be another swan with a brownlow around his neck.

Can't stand how the Melbourne media always talk up how Mitchell wants/wanted out of Sydney. He clearly doesn't yet bloody Andy Maher keeps going on with this "how close did you come to going to Carlton" rubbish.

            Tommy's going nowhere.

In 1989 the Swans actually had an Andrew Maher playing with our reserves (stood next to Graeme Cordy, 2nd from the left, in the 3rd row of the team photo). Although his picture looks vaguely similar to the TV personality, far as I can tell, it's not the same person. Useless trivia though.

The guy is all class from what I've seen - it must have been tough for him, given the clear great talent he is, to be missing so much footy through injury and then selection.

I think we have really seen since he has come back into the team how he helps the balance of the team immensely, despite needing to do more work on his disposal by foot. I've always thought once he gets established, he won't be going anywhere from our best 22, and I'm hoping that moment is now. He certainly is freeing up some of our other midfielders to get forward more than they were - in particular Parker - and we look a far better team for it. I feel our best chance to win the flag in 2015, as we showed in patches on Saturday night, is to re-energise the 'slingshot' game plan that served us so well in 2012. Mixing that in with having two quality big tall forward targets, and its going to be very hard for most teams to stop. Most importantly, it is a tactic that can work against the Hawks, who genuinely are, in my opinion, the 1 team that we don't match up well on.

Worry is their middle name at the moment. I think Mitchell is a bit down on their list of worries. Barring injury he will go well.

I think he'll play a lot more midfield minutes so that Parks and Joey can spend even more time in the forward line to keep them fresh, I agree that he'll have 35+
