Ever the pessimist, I went into this game thinking that if we got within 5 goals of Port, I'd be relatively happy.

Now, I'm absolutely ecstatic!! Go the Mighty Bloods!!

I'm not one to tip Sydney just because I barrack for them but I did tonight and was genuinely confident...made the most of the $2.40 odds too ;-)

Great to be at that game. Relentless pressure and hunger for the ball. Choked Port up over and over.

You can write pages of analysis, but this sums it up.

The club needed this. There are still some things that need to be squared up from 2014, but this would have been satisfying.

What a game! I think the disaster of that last day in September has now been redeemed! A weight off their collective shoulders. Bring on the Hawks.

While the great effort in defence is being lauded, and rightly so, at last we saw our forward line functioning about the best I have seen with Buddy and KT both there playing their roles, and with others actually there to feed off them and kick goals. For the first time it seems to have worked. The combination of Towers, Lloyd, Rohan and Heeney rotating forward of centre was impressive.

The 'old firm' mids were at their best and Macca showed us just how important he is to the team structure. KT's teaming with Mike Pyke in the ruck, with his Mummy-like presence, may be just what they have desperately needed.

                    Go Swannies!!

Great effort so many quality performers.

I was just reading Ken Hinkley's wiki page and it says he is the cousin of Gary Rohan?!?

That was a flash-back to 2012. Nice spread of goal kickers - Buddy & Tippett kicked only 4 of our 14 goals. I think Pyke is really enjoying the assistance from Tippett in the ruck. He did more around the ground than I've seen for about a year. I was not that impressed by Rampe last week, but he was amazing last night.

The Swans tore em apart - for four quarters .....

I was confident too about tonight and tipped us - the adelaide oval really suits our style of play and we always play poorly in rd 1. I uad my $$$ on 1-39 however

I missed the game but heard the last quarter on the radio in the car on the way home. The adelaide commentary crew were very complimentary and incant wait to sit down and watch the replay today

Id argue its still very early days, but the rumours of our decline have been greatly exaggerated....

Oh and Isaac Heeney - gee he is going to do the #5 proud, and gee he goes just as well as the previous incumbent did

I was there and the atmosphere was incredible at this stunning venue. The two small (ish) pockets of Swans supporters yelled and sang themselves hoarse, I hope you could hear us on the TV.

Great game, intensity from both sides but we were just cleaner in close and moved the ball with more purpose, expect for the three long bombs in five minutes to FF when there was only a Power player in the vicinity.

Tippett has really lifted this year, now a great combination with Pyke.
Heeney is headed for gun status, does it all even after just two games and can't believe Mills is rated as highly - nice!
The backline was brilliant, all of them.
Don't underestimate the importance of McVeigh as he is a very talented and very smart footballer who organises things brilliantly.
The mids were all excellent, the outside runners all had influence, even Towers who is finally starting to look like he belongs.

I could go on but this was just simply a great win against a flag fancy at their intimidating home ground. To keep them to just 6 goals was brilliant. Now they must bring that game next week or that team of first rounders will beat us!
