    Father/Son Selection for Rhys Shaw

Just watched the interview between Rhys and Heath Shaw and found out that Rhys has a baby BOY.
Makes a change from all our players having girls.

Does anyone know how many players have boys?

    ROK has a son.

I think Lewis Jetta and Josh Kennedy have boys. There's probably plenty more.

Most importantly, Rhyce only played 94 games for Collingwood - has played 121 and counting for Sydney

The Grundys are expecting a boy in October and the McGlynns are expecting but haven't found out the sex.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Doesn't really help, but Longmire's son is a gun!

Yes it does help, his son is in the academy so he can turn down the NM F/S offer and elect to stay an academy selection.

                        Eddie's head explodes again!

I would imagine that if Longmires son is good enough to be drafted, then he would go to North. Longmire is a long term coach and I can't see how a father (coach) and son (player) can work effectively together at AFL level.

I don't think the Swans Board would allow it to occur.

If Longmire Jr is, indeed a gun, why wouldn't the Swans go for him as an Academy player? They are putting $$ into his development. Horse might be a "long-term" coach now, but he might not be once Jr comes of draft-age. Coaches change frequently these days. He's career at the Swans may exceed the duration of Horse's coaching tenure.
It both pains ... greatly amuses ... me to "pull a Matt80" here, but we must look the the NBA (after all, isn't U.S. sport the gold standard for every sporting code in the universe?). Anyway, Doc Rivers coaches the LA Clippers, who traded in his son, Austin, from New Orleans this season. Austin has played under Doc!

Oh wait, "that's America!" I hear you cry, it'll never happen here. Andrew & Lindsay Gaze anyone?

Mr Longmire is not going anywhere. He is an outstanding coach and his focus is unrelenting. He does not seem burnt out, and does not look like he craves a position in the media. He will keep going for many years to come as long as the Swans make the finals consistently.

                              How old is Longmires Son?

How hard will it be for Longmire junior to play for his Dad? The kid would cop an absolute ear bashing from his Dad to show the other players and coaches that there is no favouritism.

He would have to ride his Son harder than any other player on the list and then his wife would be questioning why he is giving their Son such a hard time.

What happens then if Longmire wants to trade out his Son because there are to many similar players on the list?

I think Pagan and Son were the last coach / son duo. Pagan spoke about the situation being difficult.
