I thought he did pretty well in his 1 on 1's v Fyfe (bull@@@@ free kick aside) he is one of our strongest bodied players, would love to see him get more midfield minutes as well!

Absolutely. His manic run is needed from the get-go. He is a much-improved player, can take the game on, and is a handful to match-up against. He merits a spot in the team. McGlynn as sub, particularly at SCG, is the better option: let him stew on the bench, working up a bit of that angry man haze, and then unleash him against tired legs.

No other changes, although Cunningham may be looking over his shoulder. Another thought, though: with Rohan, Reid, Jetta (ideally), Hannebery and Lloyd providing outside run, could we break with the late (sometimes lamented) Matt80's theory, and put Mitchell in for Cunningham? It's not like-for-like, but with the other flyers up and about, perhaps a bit more grunt in the clinches will help sort out the clearances, particularly early in games?

Mitchell is going to Melbourne so probably no point. Plus, no electric pace.

But Melbourne have Jones, Cross and Viney. That's three extractors and I heard somewhere you just cannot play with four extractors...

He can play in their reserves team until someone gets injured. He's elite in that role. After a couple of years of wondering why he's not getting a game, they can trade him to Richmond.

We missed a golden opportunity to match him up on Fyfe last week too. Could have cost us the game.

If Carlton are going on the re-build then Mitchell and some GWS mids will be playing together at Carlton. Silvagni knows every contract of the GWS Mids and will choice which one or two he wants. Shiel, Cognolio, Treloar, and then maybe Hoskin-Elliot or Adam Tomlinson. Mitchell is gone we just have to deal with it.

Raining again in Sydney hey. What a surprise. Can't believe a news reporter from Sydney on Anzac Day had the audacity to say "Melbourne doing what she does best, producing a wet day". One of the great myths.

Well, it is currently dry up here in Coffs when it is s'posed to be pouring. And this weather is meant to drift down to you guys by the weekend....how long do you think it would take to tarp the SCG?

It could be interesting at 6:25pm this evening when teams are finally announced (don't get me started on that particular BS rule), but it's obvious that it will be a heavy track and it may throw up a surprise or two in selection...

FWIW, I'd like to see Mitchell brought in for this game, but finding it hard to suggest who he replaces, unless Heeney is at all sore in which case I'd give him a weeks rest.
