Not fair to us at all. Bird is a consistently good to very good (at times) footballer, Yarran isn't. Granted he have some great moments but we don't need an inconsistent player in the back half. Also, we have some good potential in the 2's for a half back rebounder.

Keeping Bird in the twos long term is a luxury we cannot afford and we'll have a much better idea iof where he stands by the end of the season.
At the end of the seaosn he'll be in contract, aged 27 with potentially 4-5 decent years left in him. Bundle him up with a Towers like player and he would be good value for a club like Melbourne for an early second round draft pick.
We can't have it both ways with the talent we develop on the list. If blokes like Hewett, Jones and Robinson are going to be given a decent chance then players like Bird may need to pastures new.Comment

Another brain fart by Rampe tonight
I'd also like to see him kick on his right foot a little more
A couple of peaches delivered by his left foot but he must be in the week to week categoryComment

Rampe is a good player and not a tool as suggested in another thread. He speaks well when interviewed and shows he can think for himself.
He now has the confidence to go for contested marks and this area of his game is improving by the week.
His kicking is excellent and also improving by the week.
Sure he made a mistake. From one angle of the vision you can see he was daring to kick it to one of our players and it would have been a great switch of play. However due to various reasons such as rain, wind the drop of the ball was affected and it came slightly off the side of his boot and found Peter Wright. We didn't lose. The world didn't end and even if we did lose he is still a good player."The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

The lesson in it is simple. Don't kick the ball across your goal unless your going to belt is across - trying pinpoint kicks like that will only get you in trouble."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

That is true so hopefully he has now got that out of his system"The Dog days are over, The Dog days are gone" Florence and the MachineComment

I think your being a bit generous blaming the kick on the rain, wind or drop of the ball. It was an absolute brainfart shank of a kick - made frustrating because, despite it being a great switch of play if it came off, it was also a very low percentage play as well.

Ooops or was it Ablett..how sad when your memory starts to fade.Comment

Its just such a low percentage play, and we've had multiple offenders try it in the backline this year for bad results. Its fantastic when it comes off, but its almost a guaranteed goal the other way when it doesn't."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
