This would be excellent news.. As Liz has said before, he is a real barometer for the side.. His amazing courage really lifts the side when needed. Please footy gods, make him a 1 club man..

      Great news

I can't help but wondering if Kennedy maybe the one leaving us for a grand finale with the ageing Hawks midfield ?

Kennedy is contracted until the end of 2017 so I'd hope he is going nowhere

          Yep contracted

I just can't help but feeling the Hawks almost always get what they want and they have plenty of outside midfield players

But their inside midfield is ageing

Hanners is our most important signature long term...sign him up!

I'm as happy as anyone about long term contracts for Hanners & Buddy, but my (albeit minor) concern is long term injuries & form loss. I'm sure it won't be a problem with either of these two, but I could see that if a club locks in lots of long term contracted players & the players sustain injuries or lose form that could be a list management nightmare.

Methinks you might over-estimate the power of the hawks

I cannot see any reason whatsoever why we would consider trading a player who is critical to us and has two years left on his contract to our closest rival. If we did it would so incredibly out of character for the club

Neil Cordy in Thursday's paper said the deal was to the end of 2018.

I'd take Neil Cordy's intel over Damian Ferret any day of the week, & twice on Sunday's. Heck I'd take Graeme Cody's reporting over Barrett!

Would be happy for Barrett to be wrong about the length of the deal for Dan, but also hope is he wrong about Lewis Jetta fielding offers from other clubs.

SYDNEY will receive a massive boost ahead of Friday night?s showpiece at the SCG against Richmond with gun midfielder Dan Hannebery set to extend his deal with the red and whites until the end of 2018.
The 24-year-old is already committed to the Swans until the end of 2016 but with cashed-up Melbourne clubs circling the club has moved to lock him away for the long term.
