Yes, but mcs, you're using logic there and I learnt long ago that trying to apply logic to Tribunal decisions just doesn't work. Actually, I tend to think of it this way: if Aussie Rules is a religion, then the Tribunal is a mystical offshoot sect, that's made up of the sort of chaps that sit high up on chilly mountain peaks, dressed in nothing but loincloths, pretending that muttering the unintelligible is the way to enlightenment.

      Fair point dejavodoo!

The midfield simply went missing. Hanners must have been on the bench all the 3rd quarter. Worst disciplined game I have seen from a Swans side since the mid nineties. And Goodes appeared to lead the charge. A rubbish attitude tonight.

I thought Jack was the only midfielder to play a genuine 4 qrts. Parker was ok and Kennedy had a go towards the end but...they got done like a dinner by a couple of quality mids. By the way who was on Cotchin in the 3rd stanza.

Mitchell had a howler. 3 kicks 7 handballs.
Cunningham my old mate was not interested in contact. He was timid to say the least for the whole night. Surely Hewett and Jones are better options than him. He fails every time when the heat is on or we play a better team. A dead set soft rooster.
Jetta went missing very quickly. And you wonder why.
Reid did a bit in the last quarter but boy is he hesitant when he has the footy and made poor decisions. Finally we should say he is over rated.
I am a fan of LLoyd but he was very erratic and has developed the habit of turning back into an opponent. Too much finessing. Just move it on. Great with his disposal when not under pressure.
Rampe played like he was on the turps for 2 weeks.
Smith's kick for goal really gave them the break they wanted. Lamentable, unforgiveable.
Jones, yep he probably gifted them the game but when he had the footy he was very poised off half back. Will they have the balls to replace Shaw with him, because Shaw looked so slow.
Goodesy had his mandatory short pass brain fade in the first half then decided on a sabbatical in the second half.
Rohan looked like he was going take the game by the scruff of the neck, but again only goes for a half. Doesn't appear to have a tank. Like Reid, over rated.
Again Laidler was our best backman.
That loss has been coming for a while. We have allowed bottom sides to stay in the game and we have looked in second gear, or were we. A team comes to town with some quality players and takes it up to us, and we fold. We looked really slow and old in the second half. Look at other sides; they have been getting senior games into young players and it is paying dividends. Lets hope the horse hasn't bolted for us.
All I can hope is that it was poor player management with the bye.
I'll take umbrage only with the Rohan comment.

I hope he's FF if the other two go out. He was marking superbly in the first half. I vividly remember the game in which he broke his leg. He was FF and for the 5 minutes he was on the field, he was tearing the roos apart.

He does have a problem, and it's a result of the "Bloods" ethos....He spends so many petrol tickets in defense. I watch him behind the play, and he spends so much time without the ball absolutely sprinting 50, 60, 70 metres hunting the opposition hoping to put a bit of pressure on. I'm sure he is applauded behind doors, but it's OTT for a guy who cramps up and can't run out games.

I wish someone would say - conserve your energy and spend your tickets wisely.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Wouldn't necessarily be a bad result if they both get 2 weeks. It will force us to use different options in the forward half and they'll both be back fit, firing and with a point to prove against the Hawks in 3 weeks (which in my opinion will be a season defining match).

Might also force Longmire to bring Heeney straight back into the seniors which I think he is more than capable of.

I am with you. Rohan is a forward not a cattle dog that has to run around all day and then nothing left. Leave him forward for the whole game. A great leading mark and otherwise kick to space using his speed. Rohan has to be selected every week????

Yes, I also like the idea of Rohan playing full forward, if both Franklin and Tippett cop suspensions. I'm sure that he'd do well enough to ensure that in future games he'd be considered a genuine target. Which should further spread opposition defences and give them more to worry about.

You've got to laugh at the hysteria. Look at our 2005 and 2012 flag years, you'll see performances equally as poor as that one. If you thought we could win the flag before Friday night's game, one half of ordinary footy shouldn't change your view.

We'll need to get better to win the Premiership but the other two contenders have their own issues.

Well, they @@@@ themselves, it was pathetic, they lacked character and showed they are not up for the fight this year. Most disappointing loss in years..........it is a wake up call that I'm not convinced will wake us up. Next week against Port will answer some questions, and we will be doing it without Buddy, so there's the first question to be answered.........
Obviously you didn't drive down to Melbourne for the Saints game in 2005. I did. The way our 2005 heroes played that night they would have been thrashed by the 2015 Suns by 100+ points. Worse, I was walking back up Lonsdale St when a Swand fan in front of me said "well, it could be worse, we could have come down from Sydney to see that." I confessed I had done just that.

We can regroup from this but we have just made it harder for ourselves to finish top 2.

I may be the exception, but I would honestly rather play West Coast in West Coast than Hawthorn in Sydney in the qualifying final.

It took me over 48 hours to get over this loss.
I've witnessed some awful losses in my time as a fan and been devastated afterwards, but for some reason this one just cut to the core.
Still feeling crap about it this morning.
Luckily I had a fairly busy w/e so it took my mind off it for a while.
Even the 2014 GF loss I got over quicker than this game.

                              Shaw has to go.
Several times I saw both Rohan and Jetta near the ball or a tiger with the ball and we still couldn't win it or negate it.
I'm surprised the Clearances WTF thread is not at bursting point.

We should do a direct swap with the Tiges. Jack for Tippett.
Lead hard and straight, marked and kicked goals.

                              Devastated!!

Awful game and Tigers often do this to us, even when they are usually losing games. They seem to match us really well.

My beef is the way the bye is organised. I'd much rather EVERYONE has the same week off. Swans are often lethargic or play in fits and starts after a bye.
