All that was mentioned were the ins and outs for the WA teams. Aargh! At least I could feel the drama, frustration and excitement through your posts.
      WA stands for Wait Awhile.

I haven't really seen those two use there pace much in the games i've seen.
I just take everyone else's word on it.

Sometimes we need to just step back and go wow, how wonderful it is to have my team be a very strong chance of winning every game it plays.
This is not the feeling the majority of teams supporters would have. It would be tough being a Blues/Saints/Dees ... supporter.
Nothing you say in your comment is inconsistent with a realistic assessment of our efforts over several weeks ... our competitiveness has been a given for a long time ... but simply parroting that is not meaningful analysis of just how we are going. I'll save my wows for when they are deserved on a given day.

Swans' site: "Sydney Swans speedster Gary Rohan is likely to miss at least a month of football with the hamstring injury suffered in Thursday night's win over Port Adelaide at the SCG."

But Broadbent fined $1500 down to $1000 with an early plea for his disgraceful hit on an injured Parker. I'm really pleased this was highlighted and penalised.

Carlton are "confused", just like they were confused a week ago when Buddy only got one week's suspension compared to two for Gibbs.

You don't think this was a bit of the old Kennedy? Perhaps the "Mug Punter" tag reflects misplaced optimism on occasions! After 60 years + following the Swans I am very comfortable with cautious / realistic assessments.
How many times on your 60+ years of following the Swans have we been 10-3?

I share some of your concerns. I actually think we have a lot of work to do to as we are behind Freo and the Hawks.

But overall I'm content where we are. Not overjoyed with all aspects of our season but cautiously optimistic if we can address some of the issues you have addressed.

Just think it is sad as such a long term supporter you can't get any enjoyment of this period of success. Gawd I'd gate to have been with you during the early 90s....

I have to agree with Carlton's confusion. I don't think Gibbs should have been suspended at all, especially in light of this Schultz decision. It's a contact sport and both were excellent tackles with an unfortunate outcome. How often do players stand up in tackles and slip out a damaging kick or handball - our own JPK is a master of the art.

The AFL is going completely over the top with its myriad rules attempting to "protect players" (read: protect the AFL from future lawsuits). The contact below the knees rule is another case of total overkill that goes completely against the spirit of the game.

The only difference I can see is that Schultz landed Ted on his side (in fact his arm grounds first) whilst Gibbs lands his target head first. Probably why the player reaction was so different and possibly the mrp.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned by any media at all but to me it looked as though Gray went with the tackle and almost threw himself to the ground in an attempt to have Gibbs land on his back and draw the free-kick.

The differences between Schulz and Gray were very small, I don't think either player should have been suspended. These tackles happen almost every quarter and aren't even free kicks against...until they start paying a free kick against the tackler then they can't expect the players to stop using this tackling technique based on the < 5% chance that a player might get knocked out.

No two incidents are ever completely identical but how anyone could find three weeks worth of suspension difference between the two acts is totally beyond me.

The solution to me is to blow the whistle for a ball up quicker once a player gets tackled without prior opportunity like they used to pre-1995, rather than giving them an eternity to squeeze the ball out for a dinky disposal.
