On another topic, just noticed umpire number 9 Matt Stevic the very pro Hawks umpire is umpiring them again! Think I'll back the Hawks.

Think our umpires this weekend are benign.

Jones gets dropped and Shaw gets another game. Longmire must have a deal with Rhyce to play this and next year to reach 150 games and life membership. We are dog paddling with the list. I expect the effort will go through the roof this week but Jones would thrive on it. Shaw will get 25 but provide 2 or 3 goals to the Crows. Did that last week and the week before that and the week before that and the week before that.........

Interesting to note that Jesse White has been dropped at Collingwood. Took longer than I thought it would actually.....

Wonder how this game will go.

Doesnt seem all that important in the scheme of things.

The big news here: Tip's first game against the Crows. Wonder if he'll get booed?

Of course he will, and that's fine.

sometimes I feel like booing him. No, I'm being unfair; it's too easy to underrate his contributions. Hope he has a great game.

I definitely feel like booing the delivery he gets from the midfield a lot of the time.

I miss Judes passion. At least he brought some heart and effort to the game.

Unfortunately Jared McVeigh was listed as the lowest player on the field for 'AFL Player ratings' last week against WC, and I think if he doesnt get going this week, with all the Goodes issues, then his time is done as captain. On field leadership is mandatory this week, no choices....

40 points up at 3/4 time, and Jude looks like he's about to storm the beaches at Normandy. Meanwhile Ryan O'Keefe seems pretty cheerful about the whole thing.

Our captains haven't really stood up all year. They have both been considerably down. I think I prefer Macca at half back all the time. He is a better player there. Kizza is just not in good form and I'm not sure what we can do. He is not really a good enough disposer to be a centre player/rover in my opinion. But he is a good shot at goal generally or a good pass from the mark & kick. But on the run he is terribly erratic. Prefer him permanently forward.

I would let Isaac off the leash and give him some centre square time. Him, Mitchell & either Joey or Parks would be good. I think it was crap to use Mitchell as Sub last week. Stupid. Terrible coaching when you had a player who has been consistently bad all season still in the first 21. Several really.

The backline has to get their precision back. Smithy has to get back into good form. He was far better last week. Reg has been good all year but he had problems last week but I suppose if the ball keeps coming down your end all the time it isn't easy.

The mids have got to win the ball out of the centre and at stoppages. I thought we missed Mitchell in there last week and suffered because he wasn't there. His replacements have been crap all year. Kizza, Macca etc.

We have Tip & Bud back which is good. I am not that fussed on Teddy as his form has been much worse than his brother's first quarter last week. diving, playing for frees, getting caught with the ball, missing tackles, getting killed in the marking contests, far too far behind his opponent on the lead. Benny is a really welcome return. No need to go into the reason too much. His reputation precedes him.

We need to stop Crows run and forwardline. They are very strong forward and their small forwards are dangerous.

Well swans had better win because Richmond are going to win tonight. Kinda funny that Hawks are losing but not funny swans will be out of top 4.

It's bad for us but I'm kind of glad they did. They were wearing the indigenous jumper in support of Goodes for one, and also because I don't think we can stop the Hawks winning another flag. But the Tiges might just be able to ( massive call but they showed the blueprint tonight, relentless pressure and capitalise on your opportunities ) . As long as the Hawks don't get the three peat, I'll be happy. Also if the Hawks get done by WC and we miraculously manage to win all our games from here on in we, and the Tiges, could keep the thugs out of the top 4!.
