Sorry for singling you out annew, but the negativity of some fans on this thread and others astounds me. Are you true fans of the Bloods. IMO a true fan follows every game regardless of the record and is optimistic no matter how bad the situation gets. Being a fan sometimes means you put your logic aside to truly accept a team.

So if you are emotionally attached to your team and you embrace it instead of reject it, then you are in fact a true fan.

Call me emotional, illogical, optimistic, but i will stand by my team no matter. I have faith that the boys will pull together on Saturday and we will walk away victors. I also have faith that come September we will stand up to the pressure of finals football and we will be crowned premiers once again.

Setting guidelines for who is and isn't a "true fan" doesn't work and is almost akin to trolling. Every one of us is different and support the Swans in different ways, there is no one "true" way. It can become similar to a religious debate, your way doesn't match mine so yours is wrong. If I want to be pessimistic about our chances tomorrow I can, I will still continue to be a Swans fan.

I am seriously excited about tomorrows game, it will provide great insight to our possible future team. And if the team does win, it will provide great momentum for the next month.

Sorry all. That wasn't my intention to define a true fan. I just get a little frustrated with the negative posts. Let's support the boys not give up on them.

I'm excited about the game too. I have enjoyed watching Rose in the Reserves and trials, and think he's a goer. And I realise that watching debuts is one of my favourite things as a fan. In fact, my first game as a member was Goodesy's debut, Round 1 1999 v Port. And this week we have numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 all in the team.

That's ok I hate negativity too and I so want to be positive but the injuries are constant and crippling. I'll still be there cheering them on but gee their backs are against the wall.

Yeah off topic but how sweet was it to see them lose especially when fox were calling them the immortals.

One advantage that would have followed if Hawthorn had won was that it would have made WCE very serious about beating the bullies to reclaim second spot.

That was a very Swan-like performance by Hawthorn.

Our game plan must be good if even Clarkson is copying us.

Hope Longmire watched it. Hawks can be beaten if you just stop giving them space/uncontested marks. If we face them again I hope we abandon our awful zone structure/conceding kicks along the boundary line and just go man-on-man defence.

Totally with you Flying South this team always stands up when the chips are down , they are true bloods and I think the $11 about them for the flag is ridiculous[getting some of that] , yes today will be a challenge with all the injury outs but I am confident ... a first final with Freo in Perth beckons and if we can get some soldiers back fit anything is possible... win that and one weeks rest and wait at home with baseball bats for whoever we get in the prelim ..really want wet toast to knock off the dogs this week ,,we can win today then our last two..cheer cheer the red and the white..
