Looked at the weather forecast. 15 deg C getting down to 13 at end. Light breeze (8km/hr going down to 0) and 21% of rain so most likely dry. There is more of a chance of rain earlier in the day.

Probably a good time to wear a scarf ... now which one? Since I only have one swanies scarf that may make it easy.

Are we playing in a final?
You'd think they'd be talking about it on AFL.com.au
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

We can't see bacteria either, but we know what sort of damage they can do!

Based on having sold 27,000 as at Wednesday night, we'll get about 35,000. Given an average of just 29k at Homebush in the H&A games this year (surely the first year that Homebush has averaged lower than SCG?), that's a bit less than par, but still respectable IMO. Even leaving aside the 'vibe around the Swans hasn't been as excited this year' point (and there's a legitimate on-field reason for that; a 2014 GF like we had, supplemented by another one on home soil at the hands of the same team, is obviously going to mean that fans are less optimistic in 2015 than they were in 2014), I'd expect that SFs involving the same sides are consistently lower draws than PFs, because there's a lesser reward for winning. We drew 48k to the same fixture (same ground, same opponent) as a prelim last year; and based on that, I'd put 'par' at about 38k. IIRC, weather was better for the PF last year.

Oh, and I don't know why people worry about where their seats are within ANZ, as long as they're somewhere around the main concourse and not in the gods; last time I checked at Homebush, ticket checking in the aisles was desultory to non-existent. So just get in and sit wherever you want to.

Latest report in The Age says 43000 public tickets left on Thursday night.

Subtract that from 82500, suggests at least 35000 depending on members, weather, random events I'd say that was respectable in the circumstances.

AFL themselves make all the $ from finals so I applaud those not turning up as civil disobedience for the disgraceful treatment of our club.

Thanks for that, but for the article to say "43,000 public tickets still on sale" is pretty unhelpful when trying to work out how many people are going to turn up?because we don't know how many seats in the stadium are reserved for corporates, ANZ Stadium members etc?that moderately large (few thousand, but it's hard to say just how many thousand) category of seats where they're not available for public sale, but no-one necessarily knows whether a bum will fill the seat on the night.

Well, derr, it depends on the size of the said bum.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It just won't be a big crowd, we will just have to yell louder and louder.
The season is almost over, the horses are starting to glow in their coats, you all miss it when the final siren goes until next year, it's actually a pretty cheap night out.
