    Harry C ?

Just wondering on peoples thoughts re Harry Cunningham

with his experience now in Snrs would he be an automatic starting player at GWS ?

He was shown the door by GWS and has maybe level jumped a few GWS players that stayed on their books via Snr opportunity at the Swans ?

I rate him but with GWS' depth I don't think he would be in their top 25. They have plenty of similar type players.

I like Harry and think there is plenty of upside in him yet. When he is on, he can kick a few, is fast and applies pressure and delivers the ball well to others. This isn't always the case though. I would like to pinch a few more of the GWS boys just to even up the score.

Hard to say if he'd be in the GWS best 25 but I rate him really highly for us and I reckon he has plenty of upside for us. Can see him playing the small forward role along with Heeney this year to allow Parker to run amok in the midfield.

Well, he seems to be in our best 25, and we're better than GWS: so I would say that he would be in the best 25 at GWS.

              Great typo!

And yes, I'd like some more of that Riverina talent.

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree that we are better than GWS currently but that hardly automatically makes our depth better...surely you don't think that Towers and B.Jack would be walk up starters? At any given time they have 7 or 8 first round picks running around in the NEAFL...it's almost farcical.

Well, depends how you look at it. Yes, there are probably guys in the GWS twos who have more potential than Harry, but currently, he is probably better than them. And I also have a high opinion of Brandon Jack, who I think in a couple of seasons will be a star.

That is what Jed Lamb thought a few years back as well.

He is better than them on the basis that he has played more games yes...but if these guys had have been on our list as opposed to on the GWS list, then I'm pretty confident that they would be above Harry, BJ, Towers in the pecking order. Look at someone like Josh Kelly...kid is a an absolute jet and can still barely crack the starting 18 yet would walk into our team...IMO of course.

No chance at all of getting a game with them. He's a small forward and would have to get past Greene, Kelly, Smith, Palmer, et al.

He is a top up player. Ok to fill a gap when you need someone. Seems to be preferred as a backman than a forward. Still too soft at the contest for me and doesn't impose himself in any form.

                              Is Harry going somewhere?
                              Have I missed something?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
