I hope posters bear in mind that there is every chance that players read or one day will read posts on threads named after them. Some will have thicker skins than others and superstars will have better things to do than trawl through the masses of bloviation by the blogentariat.
Still, with younger, emerging players, and especially with potential draftees (like Dunkley) whose self-esteem and sense of identity may be tied up more with their performance, I reckon a bit of care and thoughtfulness with your comments would go a long way.
Obviously every player is trying to be the best they can and most likely they are working harder than we are to achieve their goals. Until they learn better they may be vulnerable to harsh comment (even if the comment is made in good faith or justified - indeed, perhaps especially in those circumstances ) and not realise it does not reflect on their worth as a person.
Also, when harsh, not especially constructive criticism is directed at our own players that can't be good for morale and might diminish their loyalty or love of the club.
