Go back, re-read the pre-season game reports for the last 20 years, chill. It's March, not August.

It doesn't change the fact that our skill level is atrocious and game plan hasn't changed in 5 years.

I know it's just NAB, but this is the opportunity for fringe players to step up. I don't see Towers or B Jack cutting it. I know they bring a lot of speed to the team, but that's all they seem to bring. Towers had his hands on the ball plenty of times but his disposal had me wanting to curse the screen. Where was Brandon? I think he was doing a Where's Wally? Hard to spot. I would open up spots for players like Papley, Dawson and Newman who showed enough tonight.

would anyone else agree that was one of the most deliberate game plans to loose a NAB cup you ever seen ?

not fair on the people turning up to watch ?

that was strategically the most aweful game to watch by the Swans

We have a fair few gaps though at a man on man level as well as technical which is seriously alarming !

Not a great performance, but it's only March. Papley was a good surprise.

I also think they left out the wrong three. Rose, AA and Hewett all need to play.

Geez now we are clutching at straws! Lol. I think you are being overly optimistic if you think we deliberately tanked! Unfortunately i think this is just where we are at right now...or i may have just completely miss read your post???

Yes looked shocking. Everyone was a midfielder. Last couple of minutes looked more promising with Tippet and Franklin closer to goal!

Wow, that's a long time. I've only been a member for 20 odd years, but I don't have to think back far to remember some horrible pre and early season games in years where we went on to do really well. Check out the RWO posts from 2005 if they are still around.

I'm a chronic glass half-full guy though, so don't let my optimism bug you.

Roosy would be proud of that. Sinkers looked good, Dawson, Newman and Paps showed a bit, Mills was quieter and Robbo and BJ were hideous. If we have to pick Robbo we won't win many games this year. No bad injuries so that's a plus.

What's up with Rose? He was looking all right last year.......

Troy I bet you two pies, potato and peas that you could have designed a more effective game plan on the back of a beer coaster !!!!!

there was ten ROK's out there just bombing the ball forward and to the middle of the GWS defensive line............GWS stood there in numbers (it felt like 2 min loose defenders) then rushed forward from the CHB like a wave at Mavericks !!!

Plus we almost never went sideways or backwards from our backline to minimise the pressure >>>> we simply forced it to packs forward

opposite game plan for a win i say !!!

anyway we don't like finals of preseason and see greater importance to train for rd 1 ----- so be it ------- it is a long season and rd1 is gold compared to NAB

Sydney don't win NAB games. Most bloles were in second gear. Kennedy had about 8 touches. GWS wanted to win, we didn't care
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.
