Looks like I will now be spending a bit of my day attacking the views of ignorant internet bigots. Grooooaaannn.
Well done Gil.Comment

Way too little way too late. Token effortHe had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Perhaps the most positive thing to be said is "better late than never". I hope he keeps a closer watch on the boogans; they're still out there. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. I am indigenous and what was happening to Goodesy was putting me into a state of depression for the first time in my life, even to a point where I couldn't watch the games and I never miss a game. At the time I could not believe the lack of support given by the AFL however I don't think there is anything they could do to fix the ignorance in certain areas of society. I am not supporting Gill, I am still totally shocked at the lack of voice from AFL level and you are right with your comments..... waaaaaayyyyy too little waaaaayyyyy too late.
I still have to argue with people about what happened and they still argue back the boo'ing was about the attack on the 13 year old girl. What a load of total cr*p. If he didn't stand up to the abuse nothing will ever change. AG's problem is he is extremely intelligent and educated and expects more from people.
What made me feel better was the rallying and love shown at the SCG during the game he missed, to the other teams expressing support for him and to Adam for being brave enough to come back and play.Comment

So what could have been getting to him?
Well to me, the obvious candidate, would be him turning up each week, to witness the spectacle of a large mob of knuckle dragging, racist idiots booing a champion indigenous player. I suspect this would have been even more disturbing to a fellow indigenous player, who had grown up with Goodesy as a hero and then had this respect confirmed, once they had become team mates.
I also suspect that this amateur diagnosis might be supported, by the silence from the club about the causes. I mean, given the choice of silence from the club, or letting it be known to a group of vindictive morons, that you could posssibly force another indigenous champion out of the game, with another mindless booing campaign, then silence is probably the wise option.Comment

The two things that make his apology bull#### are he said on ABC radio he wouldn't have said or done anything differently - just a week earlier
Well he said nothing the week he said something and it'd been happening for a year anyway
So Gil just go back to being a useless idiot quietly'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

As everyone has said it is too little too late and it makes me infuriated yet again. But what makes it worse is that it was discussed at the AGM at the end of the season when it should have been a topic for discussion when the booing was actually occurring.
My take is that the AFL was embarrassed with the way Goodes retired. There was no celebration of his career at either his last game or at the Grand Final. So they are trying to cover themselves.
I just can't wait for the reception he will receive Round 3 ????. Also looking forward to seeing Goodes at the Legend's Lunch down here in Melbourne.Comment

Gil says sorry to Goodsey
I'm with you all in saying it's too little too late. And worse, it's opened up the comments sections on all forms of media to the nasty vicious comments all over again. Gil & the AFL have done this to make themselves feel better not to support Adam. I agree Mel, we will show Goodes how much he means to Swans' fans in Round 3.Comment

Ted Richards has given it to Gillon and the AFL effectively repeating what has been said here that it is too little too late.
Well done Ted!!!Comment
