When I started, haiku seemed like a fun alternative to a full blown match review - or even a couple of paragraphs - that we've been compiling for the last few years. It's more challenging than I thought. The interesting games, where you wonder how you can possibly say all you want in 17 syllables, are actually not the challenge. It's the boring games where you can't think of anything to fill that allotment. I've pretty much had the TLM results written up and compiled and sitting in draft form since December. But every time I figured I should publish some more, I returned to that North Melbourne game and my mind was blank on what I could say about a reasonably run of the mill game and possibly the most boring opposition team ever.

If anyone else wants to try their hand at writing one for the late season games, feel free to give it a go. I shall try to do the next four games this evening - -that's the Hawthorn and West Coast thrashings, plus the Adelaide and Geelong "Goodsey" games. I won't get much further than that today. So if anyone fancies writing just one on any of the Collingwood, St Kilda, Giants, Gold Coast games or the two finals games in the next 24-48 hours, that would be great. PM me anything you come up with. Just please don't be offended if I land up not using a submission - I might get more than one contribution for a given game, having now put out this invitation.
