Agree! Fantastic song but completely irrelevant to the Bloods and what they're trying to do on game day.

Would be good if someone from the club could read this and respond to the overwhelming dislike of this song on match day

A few tragics here overreacting to the short snippet of a song at quarter time doesn't compare to the thousands that enjoy it and sing along with it, taking it for the silly little interlude that it's meant to be.

Well according to the Sweet Caroline poll, only 3 out of 31 who voted want the song to remain.
So perhaps a little more than a 'few' tragics.
You would hope that those who bother to come here are a fair representation of Swans supporters....

The great majority of the crowd at any Swans game of the last few years have sung along and seeemed to enjoy it.

Not sure why some people here are getting so angry about it.

The great majority? I reckon there are about 5 people within the five or so bays in the O'Reilly around me who sing along. So maybe 1 or 2% of that section of the crowd...

Not sure where you're getting angry from.
The title of the thread is pretty self explanatory.

What did you expect to read here?
You've made your POV pretty clear. You like the song, you think discussing its removal is "tragic" and making people "angry"
Yet you seem to be the only one getting upset with the discussion.

Perhaps just don't open the thread?
I doubt the negative comments about the song are going to stop.
It will likely just frustrate you more....

I'll never complain about Sweet Caroline again after hearing what West Coast have planned. Apparently before the bounce, everyone must stand on one leg, flap their arms and scream "I'm a Weagle! I'm a Weagle!" then pash the person standing next to them. Tru fax.

Ew, imagine having to kiss a Weagle! They really shouldn't be encouraged to breed.

So if today?s vote can be believed (and I?m a little dubious) Sweet Caroline is the crowd?s singalong choice.

What choices they gave. Love is in the air? Hotel California!

Now sweet Caroline is by popular demand...

?? When was there a vote (other than on here)?

I watched the crowd around me as the song played today. I swear there were precisely two people in my section of the O'Reilly singing along. Two.

It was weird, they put the poll up just before they played it anyway, and then left it up afterwards. Then they played Livin' On A Prayer at 3/4 time (which we were by the as it turned out).

Must have been at the start of the quarter time break in order to play the song just before the end of the break.

As IF said two of the other choices were Love is in the Air and Hotel California. The other option was Livin? on a Prayer which they ended up playing during one of the other breaks anyway

The percentages shown on screen were meant to be ?live? but they seemed to jump around randomly.

That snap poll tonight was an absolute joke. A rigged vote with insufficient time to process what was going on with an appalling choice of alternatives. Hotel Frigging California WTF or a ballroom bloody dancing song by that ponce JPY. It was a joke.

No up there for Sydney, not one of many many Aussie anthems that would have been more appropriate than the dross they served up.

It was all designed to give them the result they wanted and now the muppets that want this song can point any dissenters to their dodgy poll and say it was voted by popular demand.

Jenny from membership, whoever designed that ?Poll? tonight should be ashamed of themselves and I dare you to respond on here to that absolute farce at quarter time.

It was an insult to the intelligence of everyone their tonight and I am disgusted by it

The vote was at the beginning of quarter time (it was announced over the PA and the phone number to text was on the scoreboard). All the people around me in the Brewongle cheered when Sweet Caroline was announced the winner and sang along happily.

Just shows there are thousands of Swans supporters who are not on RWO.
