For me I would bring Heeney back in for Rose. It's a bit of bad luck for Rose as his previous string of games has been pretty decent but as with new to afl level players I feel he may struggle to keep his intensity up and benefit from being managed. As long as Heeney is fit I would bring him back in after his rest.

I'm in two minds about Sinclair. I feel he is a lot better than the last few games have shown. But against the Hawks maybe the Agro of nankervis would be useful ( especially without benny being his Agro little self) so I would be tempted to play Naismith / nanka. Added bonus is they've played a fair bit together.

All in all great development because that is basically half the reserves team from a couple of years ago

Gambling is wrecking australians lives, especially pokies. There was a great 4corners expose on them a while back.

Do you think anything has been done since? NOPE

And Hawthorn should be belted from pilar to post about the whole issue as they are making a @@@@ ton from them, but nooo lets just turn the other way, like most things the hawks do.

You know what would be awesome? If Andrews or Baird came out and banned them out of the blue like Baird did with dog racing last week. I wonder then how "family" clubs like Hawthron will be able to survive on memberships alone.

The only change I could see would be if Heeney or Laidler were to come back in. I'm not sure I'd be rushing to drop Rose as he has offered us something different in the past few games. Yes he was quiet against the Cats but if we start dropping every player who has 1 low possession game then we'll go backwards quickly.

The major point of contention this week will be whether we keep Ted as a defensive forward, or recall Heeney to play up front. Seeing as Heeney played no football this weekend it seems clear he must be carrying some soreness or injury, so our focus should be having him 100% in the lead up to finals. No point rushing him back.

Sinclair always looks like he is just about got the game sorted. He seems to read the game quite well and get to where the ball is going to be but then his hands seem to let him down. I think he has the potential to be a very good ruck but ATM he just can't seem to get it together.

Yep, we are down on the agro level if both McGlynn and Laidler are out.

Sadly, there is no hope in hades of that happening - just as footy clubs are addicted to their revenue, governments are even more addicted to them. I worked quite a lot on the 'Wilkie reforms' with my job at that time, and trying to get anything through at that stage was like pulling teeth - there is little hope of it ever happening. Very sad - and like you Kilroy I'd love to see them banned.

McGlynn got plenty of the ball on Saturday in the ressies game, but I wasn't particularly impressed by him. He did some good stuff, but I didn't see it as a 'must pick me' sort of game either.

I'd like to see McGlynn put together a few strong performances in the reserves. When McGlynn and Papley both play it seems to dull their combined effectiveness, whereas Rose offers something different.

Selection is down to a number of 1v1's.

                Laidler or allir
                Papley or mcglynn
                Reid or richards
                Cunningham or towers
                Nainsmith or nankervis

                  My take:

Aliir keeps his spot based on a strong performance
                  Papley
Richards (Reid N/A due to injury)
                  Towers
Naismith did well and keeps his spot.

Love your cynicism - but quite true. A good problem to have for Clarkson.

I am just stating the obvious.

Umpiring has been as terrible this past round as it has all year, but apparently we should all accept it as part of the game. ?\_(?)_/?

Id love to see a side refuse to play the last quarter if the umpiring was obviously biased, but since we didnt do it when goodes was booed or barely made a whimper while cola, rentention allowance, trade bans and academies are ripped from us, i doubt you'll get leadership from the swans on this.

But by all means keep up the fight.

I keep seeing this - but I have no idea what it means. Have I missed something?

I couldn't think of anything worse and more embarrassing for the club.

Didn't Sri Lanka do this in the OD Cricket against Australia about 20 years ago?
