The SCG plays sweet caroline each first quarter break.
Some sing along, most ignore it.
    But it drives Annie nuts

They play it every week with a bouncing ball on the screen for all to sing along to.
        It's irrelevant.

My friends sing it nice and loud in my ear (as if it isn't bad enough).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

          Hi all

Just got some stats, comments and players availability

          Swans and Hawks.jpg

          Round 9 comments

          Q1
? Hawthorn dominated for the first 5 minutes with 5 I50s but only a behind
? After 11 mins HANNEBERY!!!, McGLYNN and McEVOY have no disposals
? After 15 mins GRUNDY and BRAND have 4 intercept marks each
? At 17 mins TIPPETT off injured back after ? time
? At 27 mins RICHARDS off injured permanently

The Swans applied 13 more pressure acts and laid 8 more tackles than the Hawks in the first quarter.

          Q2
? After 6 mins all 7 scores, for both, have come from intercept possession
? At 13 mins Hannebery on fire with 8 possessions this quarters
? At 24 mins Hawks pickup first goal from hack kick in back 50 mark by BRUEST
? At 25 mins GUNSTON goal from centre clearance

Swans dominates contested ball by +24 and tackles +13

          Q3
? Hawthorn dominated for the first 15 minutes with 5 scores - 2 goals 3 behinds
? At 16 mins ROHAN goal to steady the ship -Flashing ran after FRANKLIN kick
? 10 intercept marks in Hawks forward half in this quarter after 12 in the first half.

Hawks dominate but SWANS still holding up. All 7 goals of the Swans have originated from back 50.

          Q4
? The Hawks have scored 4.7 (31) to 3.3 (21) from set shots.
? Kurt Tippett has recorded game-highs for hitouts-to-advantage (six), hitouts (35), score involvements , contested marks (four) and marks inside 50 (three).
? Plenty of pressure from the Hawks but Swans still fighting it out
? 2 goals from FRANKLIN seals the deal.
? FRANKLIN, ROHAN 3 goals, TIPPETT, McGLYNN 2 goals
? Hawks kicked poorly but Gunston kicked 4 on Mills or some of them.

Umpires: NICHOLLS, SCMITT and HAY - NICHOLLS was OK to me and HAY was perfect, never thought of him, but SCMITT!!!!

No TIPPETT, but McGLYNN might have to play with 12 disps, 6 marks, 3 tackles and 2 goals.

LAIDLER 13 disps, 4 marks 1 tackle, CUNNINGHAM 19 disps, 2 marks and 5 tackles and HEENEY 14 disps, 5 marks and 6 tackles and all played last Hawks game.

Our most interesting and important game for the year.

We played much smarter last week then we have for a while and our mids/forwards setups in front of the ball were the best for the year.

This is my game for the year and only trip and I hope its a cracker. PS: No 5 x free kick goals to the Hawks...

Sweet Caroline is up there with Khe Sanh as being a cringey product of my youth. I didnt sing along to any of those songs, but every single time i went out for a while and we had drinks at a pub these two songs would come on and everyone would join in.

And I use to sit in the corner and die from cringe.

If that game be against the Hawks, yes.

Benny in for Rose. Keep the same structure that beat the Cats. Mitchell on Mitchell like last time.

On Friday Stuart Dew gave an interview on 3AW. They asked him if Heeney was being managed or dropped. He stated definitely managed due to knee tendinitis. He said that he has been managing for quite some time and in fact the bye did him no good. Something about continual training helps keeps it functional and the rest sort of seized it up. Those weren't his exact words but that's the way I understood it. Perhaps Swannies05 could elaborate further. But he also said he was no certainty to come back this week either.

I just hope the SCG crowd boos the umpires like it was a Subiaco game. We know that umpire-assisted club will win the free kick count and we need all the help we can get.

In saying that, I think Hewitt is exceptional at drawing frees in front of goal. Not sure how that sits with me. On the one hand, it's smart, on the other hand, it's what I hate Lindsay Thomas and Puppolo so much for.

Get Heeney more in the midfield and less jumping

I really hope we don't descend to that level.

The game is over umpired in general in my opinion, and would rather win squarely than try to lean on umpire bias. Hope it's a good atmosphere without the mindless mob mentality.

Can't agree. I'm sick of our fans playing nicely when their fans spit in our faces.

If he draws a match winning free in front of goals against the Hawks I don't think too many of us will have a problem with it!

I would love a clumsy effort from a swans to go knees first into Micthell. The guy is despised by everyone, including his team mates.
