    Wow. Win = 1st. Loss = 5 th , behind giants!

Even though it's bad it is kind of exciting at the top.

The 4 opportunities to kick a goal in the last qtr by jack, buddy, hannes and Kennedy didn't get a mention on this forum as game defining ???

They were all opportunities 35m out or less

      Two in front

It is an area that would have sealed a win and taken to two goals in front with 5 mins to go

I mentioned inaccuracy, with precisely these incidents in mind. I think others said similar things. A shot from the normally accurate Jack was especially disappointing, but Hanners kicking a behind is par for the course.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Goal kicking accuracy (well kicking accuracy in general) has been a problem for some time. This year we are averaging (rounded and not including OOBOTHF) 14.12. We are going to pretty much miss every second shot, how depressing.
And looking at the stats shows we are actually better goal kickers away from the SCG! 14.10 compared with 14.14
What's the old cliche? Poor goal kicking is poor football?
It would be interesting to see a goal kicking map for the season to get an idea of whether it is poor goal kicking or poor positioning/field kicking leading to tough shots. Then compare this with the Crows and see whether they are getting the majority of their shots in close as the commentators are claiming.

            See how important percentage is?
It's ok to win, but sometimes, you have to win by a LOT.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Not counting shots that are out of the full or don't make the distance (mainly because we don't have access to those stats) the Swans are actually 6th in the AFL for goalkicking accuracy.

According to umpires' boss, Jack 50 metre penalty correct (h'mmm) but Sinclair should have got a free kick for the Hodge dangerous tackle.

And further to the Hodge dangerous tackle:

"Luke Hodge, Hawthorn, has been charged with engaging in rough conduct against Callum Sinclair, Sydney Swans, during the second quarter of the Round 17 match between Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans, played at the SCG on Thursday July 14, 2016.

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Sydney Swans

Football Club, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was classified as a $1500 sanction. The player has no applicable record which impacts the penalty. An early plea enables the player to accept a $1000 sanction."

No applicable record? Surely by now Hodge would have an applicable record on pretty well every misdemeanor?

I'm not all over the rules like most on here so can someone explain to me why Luke Hodge has no applicable record?

Isn't this the same Luke Hodge that slammed The Chad into a goal post round 21 last season and was found guilty of rough conduct (and slapped over the wrist with a wet lettuce leaf, but the AFL had to be seen to be taking action against dangerous play)?
So if this is the same Luke Hodge, why does he have no applicable record?

Hawthorn have been taking the MVP out to dinner and ten pin bowling.

And they're only calling the Hodge/Sinclair as the wrong decision because the MRP has handed down a fine for that same incident. Clearly it's about protecting their own integrity.

We were 10th in the league last year for GK accuracy, but it was at 59.47% which was slightly better than our current rate.
