C'mon Annie it was nice of you to supply a detailed reply but can I suggest you save yr typing finger. 99% of us know you in person or on this forum. As they say, argue with fools and you start to look foolish.

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
Think of it this way. The Swans are Bernie Sanders, GWS is Hilary Clinton, and Hawthorn are Trump. If Bernie can't win, then it's OK to support Hilary to help defeat the evil empire.

Surely GWS would be the Bernie bandwagonners who just found out there's an election/AFL competition? And the Swans would be Hillary, simply simply running good governance for decades while being dumped on by the nuff nuffs?
But the Hawks are Trump alright - threats of violence and all.
I too am a premiership club member. 4 such memberships actually so when the swans are in the grand final this year myself my wife and two kids will be sitting in the stands of the mcg cheering them on.
Liz - come on now.
AnnieH posts:
"I'm a guaranteed club ticket". I, not knowing the inner club staffing structure, query if she holds a club position.
o/k - now I know she doesn't - & I'm extremely pleased.
When I mentioned genuine Swans "footy" fans, I'm thinking of those purely interested in on-field team matters (not behind the scenes matters).
I think your response was "way wide of the mark".
I am repeating what others have said, but I think the emphasis is worth it.
The allocation of tickets that Redback members get does come from a "club allocation" that is separate to those made available to other Swans members by the AFL. (Like Annie, I have been a Redback for many many years, I attended the 2005, 2006, 2012 and 2014 grand final courtesy of Redback ticket allocations. We have no choice but to accept the most expensive allocation but they've mostly been darned good seats.)
Being passionate about and knowledgeable of onfield matters and being interested in attending functions seem, to me, to be two completely independent things. Enjoying the latter surely has zero bearing on the former.
AnnieH - answers to your questions:
1. "Are you even a member?"
- No I'm not.
2. "How many home games have you missed?"
- At a guess, probably about 400 (since the 70's).
With the likely risk of once again being ridiculed - I still don't accept your attitude towards other posters.
As a recent poster stated "we are all in this together". That's the way it should be - it's not just about you!
I'm no longer a member.
Just don't get to enough games because I travel a lot and I'm based in Victoria.
Will be off to my first game of the year this weekend - may as well rainbow up
But I don't expect to get a GF ticket the normal way. Either a friend will have access to one or a friend of a friend, but I saw the 2005 win at the ground, and that will likely never be compared to, so I'm happy to watch at home and take it all in bounce by bounce.
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

I am a bit the same CTS. I bought a PC this year but not sure if I will next year. I have only seen the Hawthorn game this year. The next game will be a final. Caught up with Ludwig this trip, and he is normal and a "genuine" fan.
Can we all try and get along together for the sake of our common interest (the Swans!)? If anyone has issue with another poster's perceived tone/rudeness, please remember the form of communication (internet forum) doesn't help. If still aggrieved, we can ignore the other party's posts, discuss directly with the other party via private message, or talk to one of the site admins.

Well the cat's out of the bag now.
I can add that Nico is normal as well and a lot more normal than me. I suppose comparing normal is similar to comparing how genuine fans are. One might say that a genuine Swans fan is one that spends an abnormal amount of time thinking about the club. It doesn't seem to matter where I am, be it Sydney, Tassie or Chiang Rai; circumstances change and the years roll on, but I can never get the Swans out of my mind, like a bad song you hear way too often, ............................ like Sweet Caroline.
All of us on here self-identity as Swans fans and just spending time on RWO is confirmation of being a genuine Swans fan.

Let me let you in on a little secret... if we make the grand final, the staff of the club and the families of the players are given tickets from the club allocation BEFORE anyone else. And before you hark on, it's not "unwarranted preferential treatment" - it's a reward for all of the hard work they do behind the scenes making sure YOU have a great experience at the club.
Are you even a member?
Sounds like you're just being a jealous little sooky la la. I've been a member of this club for 20 years - a redback for at least 7 of those - of course the players are going to know me.
I've missed ONE home game in all that time. How many home games have you missed? I go to all of the big functions. I support the club where they need it the most... with my wallet.
If you want to be uppity, demanding I explain my entitlement, then put me down again once I have done so, then yes, I will treat you like dirt.
Arrogance and condescension are not admirable attributes . While I generally admire and respect your passion for the Swans your attitude and responses on this subject do not cast you in a positive light. You have reverted to sounding like Collingwood supporters at the MCG urinals
