In terms of who we meet when and where, to win a premiership you have to beat some pretty good teams along the way. Hawthorn in a PF in Sydney (if we win today) isn't that scary a prospect. On recent form I think we stack up well. The only thing I want to avoid is playing the Hawks in the GF. The unpleasant memories of 2014 (not just the Swans poor performance but the obnoxicity of the Hawks supporters) is too raw. I can cope with us losing in a GF to anyone else (or being knocked out before the GF by anyone). But not a GF loss to the Hawks. Not this year.
Couldn't have said it better - or as well. AOBH.

Agreed. I kept waiting for either team to actually start playing a good game. Neither of them seem a threat on lat nights performance.
Oh, and how was that behind early in the game not intentional.

I had to laugh at the game last night when a hawks supporter next to me was checking the free kick count on her phone, which was 14-10 the cats way, and was exclaiming to her neighbour how unfair it was that the cats had 4 more frees. They wouldn't have experienced that situation very often [emoji6].

A note on karma from my girlfriend (who is Buddhist), when asked about how karma treats this sort of situation.

Deriving pleasure at someone else?s misfortune creates the karma for you to experience misfortune in the future.

Ultimately the players karma and the supporters karma has to align. If both have created causes to lose, then they will lose. You can?t ?half lose?. In case of a football match it is generally all or nothing? apart from things like Stevie J ? that karma was all his own! Obviously the rest of the players and supporters had created the causes to win.

Basically though, from a personal level, no good will ever come from getting pleasure from someone else?s pain. And it is never good to encourage negativity in other people. So as the curator and owner of RWO online I advise you to use your power for good not evil!

The general message there....don't be like Hawthorn supporters. Or Stevie J.

              And be nice.

And if you really really want to sledge, make it funny and entertaining for both sides (as far as that can be achieved), not nasty and vindictive.

I love this from Titus O'Rielly's latest newsletter, re: Bulldogs/Hawks final: "The fourth quarter just felt like a celebration at the ground.

The threat of Fourthorn receded and colours seemed brighter; humanity was united as one and Hawks fans were leaving during a final before the final siren.

All credit to the Bulldogs too. From the early moments, they looked exactly what they are, a younger, hungrier side.

Hawthorn, on the other hand, looked like me at Christmas lunch, tired, disinterested and wanting to go home.

All Hawthorn fans have left is four premierships in recent years, the privilege of seeing one of the greatest sides ever and the knowledge they?ll probably do well in the offseason. Losers.

Bulldogs fans can look forward to trying to get tickets to this week?s game at Spotless Stadium and wondering what other advantages the AFL can come up with for the Giants. Look for the Bulldogs plane to be delayed." This guy is spot on......it's not just Swans fans who notice.....
