.....but not to discuss the issues behind them. OK.

There are plenty of other places on the internet for you to partake in those activities. Go and use them.

This thread is for people who wish to post their responses to the two Goodes documentaries in a football context.
Pity it’s necessary, but good post.

I thought this thread was closed.

Stevo, you are absolutely right to point out that discussion of the issues surrounding the Goodes documentary should be permitted.

Liz, you are right to prohibit deliberate baiting and name-calling, but I fear that on some occasions that rule has been applied too rigidly. There is one particularly intemperate poster who creates most of the problems. That does not mean others should be punished for attempting to broaden the discussion to include its cultural and political dimensions. To limit it to football is simply artificial. The issue by its nature is bigger than that.

In summary, what you're saying is that you should be allowed to slander the reputations and names of good people like Jones, Bolt, Panahi, et al, unfettered and without judgement, but no one should be allowed to defend the right of those to have their opinion or to defend their reputations? I know that's how China and the ABC work but it's not morally right. Maybe the thread should be in the sandpit where it really should have been in the first place?

When a relatively recent arrival on RWO constantly makes proclamations about the value of free speech, yet racks up more report-post complaints to the moderators and post deletions than all the remaining year #1 members have in 16 years - then there's a degree of hypocrisy (or possibly a lack of self awareness) involved.

Thank goodness for RWO's "ignore list" feature

Now back to Adam Goodes, early claimant to the title Australian of the century I think

Well. Where does one start? Probably best not to.

Yeah you are, but it's way better over here. Things like compassion, fair-mindedness, respect for difference, love, humanity.....what would we do without them?

Is there anything to be gained by keeping this thread open ? it’s inevitably going to descend into the same old @@@@show, as it has over and over and over . SSB’s opinion of Goodesy and the whole booing saga isn’t going to change . Get over it.

It's ok. It's definitely not you that's living in a parallel universe.

                      And potentially traumatising.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Not sure changing people's opinions is the measure of a valid discussion. I do hope you agree though.

Don’t worry , I do. Look I get that, but these discussions continuously break down to a point where posts need to be deleted and posters warned over forum rules etc. and it just keeps happening , I just don’t understand what the point is of continuing to engage when you know exactly where it’s going to end up.

There is something wrong with Jones. He is on (I guess) national radio. The Kiwis.... they are our friends. We don't have many.
She is the elected Prime Minister. And he says that !
